    It's nothing personal, I always end up being too emotionally involved in things that really have nothing to do with me.


    Simply put, it is your reluctance to accept a poor design decision that has been highlighted many times by other people here that deeply frustrates me.


    The problem is staring everyone in the face, yet you seem to be totally oblivious to it, or just ignore it. If you simply said "I don't want to change tunnels" then fine, but you say you understand and thanks and then produce something that isn't anything anyone spoke about.


    My understanding of the forum is that you wouldn't post here unless you wanted some help with your map. Making a map extends beyond it just looking pretty, it's about gameplay as well and making a map is not easy or quick. Sometimes the wrong decision is made, it happens, and it's in your interest to do the work needed to make it what it can be rather than try to convince us that it's what you want and it will work, even when the evidence is completely against you.


    It was wrong of me to make that comment, it was unprofessional and I apologise, but the sentiment still stands. I've been vocal in my feelings towards your reluctance to change what has been suggested, but other people will just stop posting and interest will fade until you are left with no help at all.


    But I always wish anyone making a map the best of luck with it, it's a long, arduous process.

    Sorry, I don't normally browse 2D forum, and I can't help you with the alpha channel issue as it's something I need to look into myself.


    However, what I imagine people can do (not sure) is drag the edges of the window to make it as large as possible, while running the game in a super high resolution. You could then take an uncompressed screenshot (check steam screenshot settings) and go from there.


    Alternatively, they may transfer the OBJ file into a 3D modelling program such as 3DS Max, apply the UVWrap to it and then create a very shiny render at whatever quality they deem appropriate. I've seen some guys model their own cases and extra bits in a scene with the gun in, so I'd guess my latter suggestion is the most "professional". If you have a copy 3DS Max is probably the best, but I imagine blender or another free option will have a plugin if it's not supported natively.

    I wasn't aware they all accepted large trades of rare/expensive skins. If that's the case they're even more stupid than I originally gave them credit for...


    Lots of maximum value bets were placed with alternative accounts, I presumed they would be sold in return for real money, get the value outside the ecosystem. Why would you want $11,000 worth of skins in your account? What would you do with them?

    This map is really coming along. Valve would never just drop the map, they would always work on it until it's playable. Why admit defeat? I think season will reappear in a couple of operations before it's put into the game permanently. Or at least an announcement might be made after this operation.


    When is this due to finish? I have a backlog of missions, I've pretty much done EVERYTHING I can without doing a classic competitive mission.

    I'd be interested to know how Valve found this all out. I imagine it's something to do with the unique ID of a skin making it into an associated account of a certain IP address, based on the original account holder. Maybe take into consideration the age of the account as well. Fresh accounts having ££££s worth of skins dumped into them.


    So as long as they put the skins into an account that had never been logged into from their home IP and sold the weapons off market for real money (which I believe breaks ToS?) which was transferred into their accounts, maybe they could get away with it.


    I would love to know the extent of data valve collect and process, because I bet it's mind boggling.

    You're wasting your time, he's not interested in feedback. He doesn't want a "lane map". I've suggested changes similar to your layout mockup on top of the numerous people telling him that B tunnels are wrong/bad/long/convoluted/narrow, and his update was remodelling T spawn which no one had said anything about and was one of the more interesting areas of the map. Now it's a corridor.


    Let him waste his own time chasing this design

    as I think with most things, just wait til it's out. I think (as with games) a lot of what we loved is nostalgia and they have to do something to modernise it, especially for older IPs like Star Wars and JP.


    Yes sometimes they go over board and milk it, but sadly the great unwashed will still go and see it and love it. As far as a director is concerned, that's job done.


    We just have to hope that the director wants to stay true to it, just like Uwe Boll with all his film/game adaptions kappa
