Well, it's clear that now, thanks to "operation Mapcore" on CSGO, the forum is on the radar of many people.
Developers are using it in desperate advertising moves. Unless spam companies hired by desperate developers, are trying to impersonate developers to get through the wall.
Is it possible to approve new user before they become active? I've seen it in other forums. We could require an url for personal site or social where we could verify the person is a game dev or enthusiast, journalist etc.
that sounds like a total drag for the admins. And how easy would that be to circumvent with false information? what if you have no sort of personal site, or one that you are willing to share? You can't join?

Made the jump to 10 on my work laptop.
I was one of the unfortunate souls to upgrade and have a bug where windows settings and update cease to function. Basically, if you try to open anything that falls under settings Win10 tells you a default program doesn't exist after the window tries to flash up for a split second, cheeky fuck.
Anyway, reinstalled and don't need CD key! Win10 uses a hardware profile to remember your computer if you took the upgrade, which is pretty handy imo.
I also noticed it forces these boring grey window title bars on you which I've found quite hard to distinguish between windows, so I found a little guide to help others change it:
http://winaero.com/blog/get-color…-in-windows-10/
I took the manual approach because I'm not going to install anything on this thing I don't need!
Now that I'm properly up and running, after all windows settings ceasing to work, and I've personalised it a bit, I really like it. The iconography is a bit shit, they look really flimsy and the sizing is all over the place, but that's just the perfectionist inside me bubbling up, not a functional issue.
But then I also
likedhad no problems with Win8... take me out back and shoot me between the eyes? lol -
Rather than resetting the signatures, would removing all the metadata from them work so that we can reorganise them ourselves?

Upload your vmf to a hosting site please. I'd like to take a look.
I'm pretty sure you had this problem back on the cs mappers Facebook group

Will you implement a seed based generation system like Minecraft, so that people can share experiences?
What's the full weapon loadout going to be or are we not privy to this information yet?
Will there be boss fights?

was one of pedros friends. See these dodgy english people...

which one? I may have played with them as well...
I would like to point out that this is just for a badge that most people won't even be wearing in 4 months time. It makes no difference to anything but people complain because it costs a lot for something they just want, and don't need? Yet valve are the bad guys?

I missed an update? What's going ooooooon? I'm trapped in the dark ages (Cornwall) atm

If you're wanting to create custom textures, that's more environment art than level design.
However, on vtfedit you can set auto-create vmt and from there you can copy examples of valve vmts. I found mine by using gcfscape to extract a couple of examples from the csgo game files as I also needed the normal mapmap and texture blend information. The VDC (valve developer community) has a whole page dedicated to vmt variables.
GIMP and paint.net are 2 free applications which can help you create tiling images and automatically create normal maps for you. Paint.net also natively handles the DDS (direct draw surface) file type which valve uses for the radar images.
I would provide links but I'm on my phone, soz.

Have you had this playtested with mapcore yet? All these changes are irrelevant to us if we have never seen it in action. Phrases like "increase tactical depth" bear no real weight. You should know why you've done something and have a specific outcome, ie: "A main was too restrictive, have widened to allow easier entry".
You don't really seem to have even replied to most of what has been suggested or discussed regarding your map, let alone shore it in your progress.
What is your theme? Your setting? The location the map is set? Anything?

going from 60 to 144hz must have a significant performance impact, no?
Not at all. If your computer is already churning out >144fps on a game, it just means that the screen now shows more of those previously wasted frames.
It's entirely a display thing, requires no more work from your computer.

Don't worry guys, reddit have fixed mirage:

I read through it twice before checking comments and realising it was satirical...

High refresh rate > excessive pixels
Everything will look buttery smooth! I noticed the improvement straight away and loved how slick it was. You'll notice immediately going back to 60Hz and it will never feel the same. Even the mouse movements on your desktop will look tasty

There's a fairly clear checklist as to what needs to be covered.
Spawns is clearly listed among other things. You don't seem to have provided evidence for many of the other aspects either.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll look into it, but we don't want to replicate mirage.
The smooth texture you talk is about is really about personal preference, and in this case I feel the smooth greys hide a lot of the detail. The lines give you a better idea of grounding and scale.
Thanks about the feedback, trying to lead by example

Maybe add some extra drama to the map:

My very first custom texture!
