As long as you've got all the game play elements, it's not too early. Testing with a small group of people is a very narrow variety of feedback, no matter how honest you think they are. You'll do what you do, but just bear it in mind.

I hate slow DLC releases, immersion is broken and I can never get back into it. I never buy the DLC season passes because of it

I picked up Rust in the steam sales and I have to say it's by far one of the better survival games I've played.

Within 5 minutes of joining I helped a Swede beat to death someone shouting at him in Russian through the game comms chasing him with a spear. He thanked me and then we parted ways.

I didn't use any guides to help me, just me and a friend knocking our heads together to work out how we built stuff and survived before we were surprise attacked by a bear and then a wolf got involved and well... we had to start again. There's only so much damage 2 naked men with their junk flapping around in the breeze can do against the onslaught of nature.

Fun and accessible, but still doesn't stand out massively from other survival games.

Nice to see how this is progressing. Any plans for a mapcore playtest?

B was already pretty hard to access as a T and that was before CTs had any proper height advantage. The whole main entrance for Ts into B is pretty convoluted:

    • Straight ahead for an easily wallbangable (and destructible?) door
    • Harsh right into very focussed alleyway, which CTs can camp from all kinds of angles.

I didn't find the route from mid to effectively really alleviate any of the access issues on B

I like the feel of the lighting, but you've got a lot of areas in the latest screenshots look way too dark for game play.

I think you need to boost your ambient lighting as there are still quite a few spots that seem oddly dark in contrast to the bright lighting falling next to it.

Get a higher resolution monitor? :P

I know of DSR (Dynamic Super Resolution) for nvidia graphics cards, but I've not done much with it.

Steam also offers an uncompressed screenshot to be stored which would help the quality potentially without rubbish jpg compression.

But really... Why do you want/need high resolution screenshots?

Finally watched it last night so I can open all the spoiler tags here at last Had a midnight showing and didn't get home until 4... Definitely worth it though.

I thought it was a really solid film, and I really enjoyed it. Really good balance of comedy/drama/action, and I thought the new cast were great.

Soild 5/7 from me as well.

I wouldn't be surprised if the next film is based a good 10-20 years in the future. Mainly because of Rey's comment to the comatose Finn before leaving, as well as both Kylo and Rey going to see their respective masters for training.

That and they took down a planet with a gun inside it, and they'll probably need some time to build the next larger gun round gun laser thing for the rebels to destroy because there's not much for the Jedi's to protect now after they wiped out however many planets!

Also, regarding rumours of Finn being Han Solo's son, he does have the same flight/fail/fight routine his late father would have.

And the lightsaber that had once been Anakin's then Luke's, now Rey's would suggest to me that there's a family tie? Not that I realised lightsabers chose people, I didn't realise this was fucking Harry Potter.

    Car Update:

3rd party accepted liability, so I've had all excess fees waived and my No Claims Bonus reinstated. The repair shop closes in a couple of days so I won't get my car back until the new year, but luckily it's only superficial damage and can be fixed!

I can't wait to get my baby back

Did the insurer not sort you out with a like for like car? Mine got me a 6 month old Vauxhall Insignia 2.0 litre automatic. Was like a bloody luxury tank! Then again it was a rental car rather than a courtesy car.

    Best of luck Jacko!

No luxury tank for me! I've got a piddly little 2015 1.0l petrol Peugeot 208 (3.2k miles on the clock) that I am far too large for. I could literally bitch about it for hours after driving it for 40 minutes this morning. It is a genuinely, horrible car.

    Thanks :)

e: except for most things that aren't scrappable, they only bothered to make decoration that are used in settlements and things you can pick up and move scrappable, sadly. Hopefully a mod adds that data to all the props so we can properly strip shit bare.

Don't watch my latest dash cam video then It's loud, I was driving home from a long day at work and wanted to liven my drive up! But it features utter arseholes and peanut butter jelly.

Duno why it's not embedding in the post

I had a video like that, was making a long drive deep into suffolk, and they've got this new road there. I was travelling a good 70mph and was looking to pull out to overtake and these 3 fuck heads shot past doing easily 100mph bumper to bumper. Sadly it's been overwritten now, otherwise I would've reported them.

RE my crash: Other driver said he didn't see us, sadly not while we were recording (phone screen locked and app stopped, great job cyanogenmod!) and I've sorted everything out with insurance. Got my tin bucket on wheels courtesy car this morning. The liability team for my insurance requested the video be put on youtube for ease of access (it's unlisted), and have since emailed me back telling me there's a problem with their computers and they can't access youtube for the video, or imgur for the damage (imgur damage album). Superficially it looks ok, but the wheel took the brunt of that and was enough to shift us on the road, so fingers crossed the axle or something similarly important is in tact.

I really don't want this to be a write off, I won't find a similar focus with the spec on this one for the price i did before :|

I'd like to see them address that, but I worry people would say that they're harming the core rifles. I try out the AUG and SG sometimes and I don't want to like them, something about them is really unsatisfactory as you say. What would CS look like if we all enjoyed those guns more?

Community is becoming as whiny as it was back in the 1.6 days, full of armchair developers

Not that Valve have to give us a running commentary, but if they had released the update WITH those roll back notes, or even warned us all "hey guys, we're planning on experimenting with some weapon values in the hope of doing..." and the game goes into a public beta state where match rankings don't count or provide beta keys for those who want to try the different version which we can opt in and out of freely to play with other beta clients.

But there are a lot of people who like to suggest absolute drivel without any understanding of how that impacts the game as a whole, let alone the development required behind it. (Yes, I realise the irony of following my previous statement with this :P )
