This level is honestly just too open for Source engine to handle. It looks like you'll need to either put up some walls to prevent visibility, or add some fog (Which would look stupid).
Start by making sure all props have fade distances...

Hey all!
I got bored today at work and installed Whatpulse. It tracks your inputs to your machine (Not a key logger, just press count). It then can do all sorts of cool graphs with it.
If you want to join my conquest for the most key presses, join the Level Designer team!

Here is my list of mobile games that I enjoy playing. I call them "Poop extenders" because I take 15 minute craps instead of 3 minute ones.
All of these are from the Android Humble Bundles. I ain't got time to crawl the App Store to find games!
The games that I LOVE are bold. I highly suggest you play those. But all of these are good.

Some people were talking. I'm pretty sure it was a glitch / viewer bot.
-
So I was streaming last night and almost crapped myself. I look over at the chat and see this:
I'm guessing it's a glitch.

Tomm is correct. Use a func_brush and set it's solidity to be "never solid"
This brush will still cast a shadow unless told otherwise.
-
Seth, then they would be your best resource to go to. I've never used them in a public release of a level... ever... I think they are a pretty useless entity actually.

Cool shots Douglas, I especially like the golden light from the skylights and the little rivets on the floor. I'd say the spotlights could be toned down just a little though.
Thanks for the feedback! I'm still playing with the lighting. I'm not at that sweet spot. I was speaking to someone else as well, they gave me lots of pointers on making that area look less bland. I got a busy night of fixes!

I've been working on my GB/CEVO level for a while. This is the most complete area that I have of it... FOR NOW.

I don't randomly go around throwing negative signs in-front of things. I might as well force the editor to crash

Try it with lights

Linux host I'm assuming?
I just accepted a new job so I'm not sure how much time I have but I have a week off leading up to it. At the very least I'll see if I can find anything that's largely boiler plate that might work.
A web app as a FTP front does sound like a good idea.
Yes, the servers that I have access to are Linux based machines.

I'm not defending decompiling... But I would not be where I am if I was not able to decompile levels and see how they were made. When I first started mapping this was a massive learning tool to see how things were done. From a learning perspective, I agree with giving out VMFs. If someone asks me for any of my VMFs I provide it for them, but that's because I'm helping new mappers 95% of the time.
If we want to give out VMFs, it should be done with the intention to teach. With that said, VMFs should not be given out in this collection. Prefabs, however, could be given out.
P.S: BSP Source decompiles anything, and I've only gotten a wiggy brushes once from it. http://ata4.info/bspsrc/downloads.html
