Yes, according to the steam tags, it's single player and COOP against AI enemies.

Different games though ![]()
R6 and SWAT are urban/suburbs CQB, while GR is more military ops across open world.
I still have the OG GR up to advanced warfighter in their original CDs/DVDs; big fan ![]()
Merry Christmas everyone ![]()
For all the "young" folks here who never got to play the classics back in the day or for veterans who didn't like tactical FPS games to try them, here are some short gameplay videos from the classics that led to this game of "Ready or Not".
I literally played the shit out of these back in 1998-99 on my trusted Pentium II, and seeing these missions and the officers names almost brought a nostalgic tear to my eye.
Rainbow Six (1998)
Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear (1999)
SWAT 3 (1999) (hint: the original hardcore unforgiving game)
SWAT 4 (2005) (a bit more mainstream than 3)

Time for a new playthrough? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The game is still in early access, but the reception has been overwhelmingly positive (96% positive of 8.3k reviews on steam)
It does look and play like a modern version of SWAT 4

So far, the official press release is only stating that this is for new bohemia titles going forward.
But I'm pretty sure that once the engine is released publicly, modders will immediately backport previous arma titles ![]()

Hell yes ![]()
I think they already started working on it but they won't reveal anything until the engine is public; just my speculation

here are a few direct comparison shots between the original in 1994 and the remake in 2021/2:

ArmA 3 was pretty smooth if you ask me, the latest build of the RV engine was slick; however I can totally agree with you on the jankiness and sluggishness of Arma2, especially when driving. Always felt like dragging a chunk of jello across slimy mud.
Quote from AlexM14 hours ago, AlexM said: It's a bold move to make your own engine these days.
Techland practically did the same for Dying Light 2 with the new in-house C-Engine. The devs were pulling towards adopting UE4 but management insisted on in-house engine to replace the aging Chrome engine of Dying Light 1.
Better control, faster iterations, faster implementation of custom solutions, better translation of your vision, better customized pipeline/flow, autonomy, keeping source code/trade secret, etc are some of the reasons to go in-house IF you have the talent and money as you said.
Looks like BOHEMIA INTERACTIVE will be soon releasing and showcasing their newly built in-house game engine, Enfusion, to be replacing their old and trusted Real Virtuality engine that has so far powered most of the Arma titles.
Despite its age, the RV engine, especially in ArmA 3 shines really well when it comes to massive realistic open world locations, and it seems this new engine will be taking this realism even further. They promise it will be more streamlined and user friendly for creators and developers. The new Enfusion engine will be powering all future Bohemia's games. ArmA 4 is gonna be huge ![]()
Seeing some of the screenshots and features, and I sure would like to give it a spin once it is released
