  • Left 4 Dead 2: Tricycle Factory Survival Map

Hahaha, a good ol' tricycle factory, that's exactly the place I'd go for a ride in a zombie apocalypse!

I'll see if I get some time over to play it!

I know it's easy to do but you shouldn't stare at the stats daily, it might draw you into utter madness. Proactive actions on the other hand, that's really good!

    Hi Kikette!

You're very right, it is blurry and could it be that I did not have sharp edges on the individual grass straws?

I'll most definitely add some more colors, thanks for the response!

Me trying to do some handpainted grass texture! Usually don't do that much art but I think it's ok!

Woah, that's tons and tons of different textures, clean and slick, I like it!

I might install the game and give it a shot, looks like you put a great deal of time into this.

    Hi there Spherix!

It's nice to see someone trying to bring new things into CS!

I don't know if you have playtested this map yet but I have a feel that it will not play out as well as it did in Unreal because these two games are very different in terms of both pacing and mechanics. Counter-strike is a lot about taking cover and if you look at this level there is not much cover at all, it's all open areas which could make long-distance weapons way too powerful.

However, it may play out okey anyway, only playtesting will prove it. Just don't be afraid to derive from the original map and make changes to make it play better.

YES, removing that AH means I might even return to my Witch Doctor!

    EDIT:
I've always been wondering why they are enforcing online play, do they gain money from it? I just can't figure.

Whaat, people still play CoD4? ^^

And also, nice to see someone making maps for it, had no idea CoD4 was still active.

Yeah I'm using TrenchBroom. Everything in the screenshots was done with it.

Funny that you think it's too dark, it's actually bright as fuck on my monitor.

Haha! I guess that's an unsolvable problem then, users will always have different software - unless Apple consumes the world completly, god forbid. xD

Working on a small Porco Rosso flight sim game designed for VR... it's about looking around, so it had to be an open cockpit game, so... Porco Rosso. It's called "Nostrum." Currently a finalist in the Oculus VR jam, cross your knuckles for me!

A flight simulator for Occulus, that's just great!

Same comments as on Func. But I was wondering what editor are you using? Trenchbroom?

I really can't see much of the walls in the first pic. I don't know if it's feedback of any worth since my screen is obviously too dark, but it seems as though the scene in the first picture is a bit too dark maybe? Apart from that, it's cool!

Do note, OP has not posted here since TS; yet started a new topic. I assume it's no longer of interest to the OP.

Sure, but I still find the whole thing of why you want to put python in Unity interesting, and I got some answers to that! ^^

I really like the layout and the menus that pop up when you hoover the images. I think that you should add even more documentation for each item rather than adding additional items. Currently I can't really tell if you're an environment artist or a level designer just judging by your webiste, I think you should be very clear with what you are and what exactly you have done in those portfolio pieces. When I look at your current portfolio pieces I can't tell if you did all the assets yourself, if it's just a scene or if it's a playable level.

    I hope I was constructive enough! =)

    Cheers!

I'm working in Unity daily and I agree, any scripting language is indeed theoreticall usable, but the thing is that Unity has a very broad library for both C# and Java script, so I just couldn't fathom why you would want Python in Unity instead of these two langauges. Maybe there is something specific you can use Python for? I never heard of it but maybe there is.
