+1 on the first part @Bunglo

Moreover, I am of the opposite opinion of most people (according to the articles): I would be curious to see how a sandbox Splinter Cell could look like.

I don’t know why, despite being one of my favourite IPs, I’m really not precious about it. Maybe it’s because they’ve already experimented a lot with the formula and I’ve always enjoyed it for what it was.

~ Blacklist: I didn’t like the implementation of the play style, “hard coding” it via the menu. But in terms of fluidity was great, I enjoyed the little I played of it. Unfortunately I didn’t complete it, one of those instances where you don’t play for a bit and then you never feel like picking it back up. When I reinstalled it I was bummed to find it was now running badly despite I had just formatted and upgraded to full SSD setup.

Haven't had the chance to try coop ? I’m sure with the right person is fun. I tried it in Chaos Theory, but was laggy unfortunately.

I hope that if included, they do coop like other games that allow a friend to play for free, I’d be up to get someone onto play on me.

Ubisoft announced already a few weeks back that Toronto studio is working on the latest Splinter Cell title, I wasn’t sure if to post it since it’s very early days, but a post on LinkedIn just reminded me of it.

”Unfortunately” is a remake, I wonder if the intent is to then diverge going forward and tell another Sam Fisher story. I’m really curious to see how it’ll look running on Snowdrop.

Damn I wish I could work on something like this, it’s one of the first games I bought with my own money, and who knows how much time I spent on these.

I wear it all the time. The battery is honestly quite disappointing, it needs a charge once per day it seems like.

It would be a fixation of mine I guess, I just wouldn’t like to wear in bed something I wore all day, sweating, collecting whatever is in the air. Guess the sports band are easily washable.

Yeah I imagine, so I just wonder when is the best time to charge those things if one wants to track sleep

Yeah, welcome to the marvellous ecosystem @FMPONE ? another leg up is that because it’s Apple lots of other medical devices link to Apple health, I know of blood pressure, blood sugars (diabetes), heartbeat trackers (that strap on the chest)… I don’t understand if clinics have started to interface with that data to have a more complete picture, I know many doctors were concerned people would self-assess and show up thinking they have problems where there are not.

I forgot to ask: when do you charge it? With all this tracking you’d want to wear it all the time, but needs charging every day or two days right?

Also did you get a second strap just for the night? ?

Really? I’m surprised just because it’s the first time I hear this. Might be because tech reviewers just focus on the tech side, so I can see how this is the best smart watch, and the fitness kinda of “an addition” (although I’d say makes at least 1/3 of the experience and the reason why at least 1/3 owners buy it for that.

So you had the Fitbit before? What does it give you more? I thought was a glorified step counter and only the smart watch rapidly managed to track more activities with every update/app

Even IGN gave it a 4/10 lol.

Dunno, might have such low expectations that I could find it watchable, but surely don’t expect it to bring back the good times of the first.

PS: my best friend told me it’s also suffering of the megalomaniac complex of almost three hour runtime

@Buddy@will2kyeah but I would imagine part of that was technical restrictions. Wolfenstein 3D had same height ceilings all over, that didn’t stop them to open up the environments when they remade the games.

Now I haven’t played SS (I think i tried a demo from a shareware CD) so I don’t know if this is any part of the story, but I would doubt it?

In any case it might have been charming in the 90s but doesn’t seem to work right now, when there’s a bunch of detail right in your face. I think it’s part of the reason why it’s getting such mixed feedback

    This looks real nice ?

I am a bit confused on the theming, what’s the narrative universe look like? Seeing a futuristic/space level dropped after an office that looks like CS2.0 gave me an immediate vibe of kitbash/asset flip, not because the models don’t look good, but because it’s a big thematic change. So it is quite important that you “explain” why there are such different environments. Probably don’t put such different environments side by side in any promo material for the public.

Lovely story ☺️ When younger I used to play with my dad, like one would be controlling the movement the other shoot in Doom/Wolfenstein… we played a bunch of Quake as well but it was super hard with the full 3D (we didn’t know there was mouse support).

HL1 was the last thing we tried and it was just impossible. We played a lil bit 1v1 the Halo Wars mod but it was too easy for me, so parted ways, gaming speaking.

~ VR deffo seems to be more limited than a console in terms of choice. There’s a ton of games but the feeling is that they are mostly filler content. I’d be happy to rent to play the couple odd games.

Fucking goddam expat life. My passport expired during pandemic, and with all the development issues we have with our child, plus at some point losing my job, its renewal was the last thing on my mind. Dunno if the process is the same for other countries, but for an Italian passport you have to go in person to the embassy.

I've finally filled the forms and got new pics for the passport, I head over the portal to book an appointment and there's fuck all until end of March! These lazy fuckers have a mere 2 hour window you can book in every day for this sort of matters. I would be tempted to bet that I can get the British citizenship and passport quicker than that.

Haven't been back since Jan 2020 and was hoping to go back at least at the 2-year mark...
