Speaking of boomer shooters, Graven team posted a dev blog about their mapmaking process. If you didn’t know, they do the brushwork in Trenchbroom and then import in UE4

they also went about a bit if this on a recent Quake podcast episode

I would hope to get to a situation where I can work from home 2-3 days a week (having a short commute)... until we move to a bigger house, or a house with better sound proofing, my situation is bad for this sort of thing. Also I need a break from home stuff... don't get me wrong, I am enjoying to the fullest having the chance to see my daughter grow and be there for her, it wouldn't be happening without the pandemic, but at the same time I don't get the clean break necessary for full concentration: if I don't get distracted, then it's my partner asking to help for this or to look at that fun activity she's doing with the child.
Plus in terms of benefits is a shame that so much has been arranged by companies in terms of gyms and cool studios, and miss out. Even if I had a gym subscription paid, it wouldn't be the same as having it in the building/across the street.
Side question: do any of you setup your living room for video calls? Has anyone found a self contained solution for a TV-webcam. The Facebook one is... Facebook (and supports only FB messaging apps), the PS4 camera doesn't support calls(!!!) so I can only see you have to connect your computer... which we do for the weekly quiz with friends, but we are never looking in the camera #firstworldproblems But it would mostly be interesting cos the child keeps more focus on the call if is up on the TV, so would be a bit better for grandparents

Wow, I haven't played any of the games released this year ?
Couldn't have they chosen a brighter screenshot for TLOU2? It's so dark that it disappears in the page, almost as if they don't want people to spot it. Hades got nominated for a shitload of awards, I'm surprised and impressed.
In terms of eSports I have a feeling CSGO won't win shit.
I'm well impressed and happy to see there's an award for accessibility, in the interview I've got this summer I was asked if I knew anything about accessibility. I really want to see some making of/behind the scenes or in general analysis for this aspect as 3/5 games in the list are big AAA and I really want to understand where's the bar at right now.

I was thinking of this as well but was confident we'd get something when ready. With all that's been going on I was wondering if you had the chance to still chip away at this project.

I was going to compliment the screenshot first, but you really don't like to be tagged in posts lol ?
Wow is that all 3D? it looks like a painting... and I notice the aesthetics is much less saturated. You changed art direction?

Regarding car chases, I'd be happy to play a chase akin Uncharted 4.....that's the bar.
Come to think of it, uncharted 4 with more advanced stealth mechanics would probably fit a modern Bond game pretty well!
It's always been very wacky, but they definitely started to put too much emphasis on the gadgets and have one for every situation*, rather than a few mindful ones... it's the same arc the Batman films went on, basically, and that's why I got to like the Daniel Craig version the most** (along Roger Moore that was what I watched growing up). While looking up all those videos for the post I also re-watched the chase in Rome from Spectre and they did have a pun in regard to car gadgets, as basically all gadgets were non-functional.
I haven't played Uncharted 4 yet but I saw the video and on that base alone I agree.
* I guess it makes it easy on the writers too! **but I didn't like Skyfall and they threw the story right into the shitter with Spectre

If they stick to the subterfuge and the hiding-in-plain-sight of the Hitman series, but with bond's gadgets, it could be class. I just hope they don't feel the need to put in an awkward driving section.
My concern would be a game that is too much of a Hitman clone and leaning too much on gadgets. Bond is actually not that subtle, and the films have gone up in pacing more and more over time... I'd want to be able to somewhat parkour, slide, hand-to-hand combat.
I rather not have a driving section if it's terrible because of tech/time/budget (I'm thinking of the horrible Bourne game), but it's undeniable that a big part of the 007 brand/allure is cars... think of the amount of gadgets they pack in those Bond-cars. And then there are always epic car chases in each Bond film... you remember Carmack talking about a 70-30 proportion when marketing Rage? I wouldn't say in Bond films the split is that high, but at least a 15%? Plus boat chases, jetpacks, on-ski chases, parkour, underwater shootouts (way before COD Ghosts did it)...
I mean are we joking

Time to catch up on some TLOU, Uncharted etc!Did you get much bundle with it or you have to buy stuff?
Last year there was a sale on the PS Store shortly after I got mine, so I bought TLOU+Uncharted remakes, Uncharted 4, God of War (the last one)… still took me months to get to any of these because Spider-Man that was bundled is such a time sinker. I’ve only recently started Uncharted 2 ?

That's not a problem in the ''it being a bad game'' sense, because it's not. But it is in the ''trying to find anything worth discussing'' 7 years ( or - arguably - 20 years ) down the line sense
yeah that's why I posted different stuff about pro-scene and what not... I mean there's been the coaching scandal recently. People used to also post their own highlights. I keep following the scene watching some bits of matches when the stars align and I'm free and there's a live game on and listening to Thoorin and recently @Pr0nogo

No idea, I stopped playing exactly for the baby-reason. Been wanting back in but every time I feel confident she's on a good streak of sleeping through the night she starts waking. I just thought that some bits could be interesting cos if people are mapping they are also playing at least a bit?
