Happy for you, I wish things will speed up for you and you'll lock down the position you aspire to
(and leave all the slackers you talked about in the past, in the dust).

People get stuff at launch because they are either passioned hence impatient, or want to show off. Or the product just happens to fall nicely in your window of needs so you better get it before it becomes to feel old (eg: smartphone or computers).
Then there are so many facets, and it depends if we are talking about a physical product or "software" (not only games but music or a show at the theatre).
I find incredibly scary to read there's people driven to buy "because it's good for economy", i hope they are not really that serious.
Quote from (HP)The same reason I felt that warm feeling again this weekend when I bought a WiiU. Nintendo is doing really bad, so I bought a WiiU and I also own a 3ds, it's obviously not the main reason I did, the games are, but knowing I'm also helping them it's a great feeling.
I can't help but think about this bit of The Corporation when i read this kind of statement. Not judging! [Blocked Image: http://flaviomauri.it/emoticons/peace.gif]
Make no mistake, I understand the "passion" aspect of things... i'm definitely not the biggest compulsive buyer, but you'd be amazed by the back-catalog of games i've built in this years because "maybe in 3-4 months i'll finally be able to afford a new gaming rig" and i'm still moaning about that.
But i would never pay the full price for stuff i know i wouldn't be able to use in the immediate future!
I say "vote with your wallet" all the time in game discussions, and in general I believe in the principle. For that reason I almost never get a D1 game and even less do preorder: most of the time I don't find a game worth 60€. The only reason to do something like that right now for me is multiplayer: on consoles communities die very quickly or apperently are never born (never been able to play Kane & Lynch 2 with humans after buying it discounted).

How can you say fruit is bs just because it has sugars. There's a lot of vitamins, which I dunno where you intend to get otherwise, and for the sugar balance out with the diet.
And not speaking of other elements like anti-oxidants you find in blueberries.
Plus, I don't find anything more thirst quenching that something like grapefruit.

I mean by adjusting brightness/contrast/etc on the finished piece.
I know you painted it, but it feels a bit like you integrated a couple of textures there. Which in specific is a good thing, but in the global composition doesn't feel completely finished.
Makes more sense?

Nice work!
Is the first piece retouched afterwards? Because the light sources (and wet reflections) have a photorealistic feeling that clashes a little with the rest of the composition.
In the last one, i'd wash the mountain a little bit more, to give more depth, but liking it a lot - impressive clouds!

My first ever risotto* was the asparagus one on monday evening.
Taste was great, problem is I was on duty call, and got a call right when i was halfway through the rice cooking, the result is the rice ended up overcooked (also it is not the best quality of rice like my mum uses).

*I mean I made one years ago, with radicchio, but i got help at the time. It was shit anyway - never make risotto if you invited 10+ people and you are not a master of the trade!

Are those beauty shots or is all in-game post-process? Because the amazing thing about this game is that since the first shots, there's an "artwork" feel to the in-game shots
I find that an impressive feat, really like that. That was also in the hi-res shots from Rage, but i never understood if that game maxed out on PC give that results or not (still haven't played).

I was going to point out about the Turkish problems with human rights… though I remember the membership was denied because they have (had?) death penalty. Dunno if it's (still) true.
Very sad to hear about the snipers… I remember they were doing the same in the Balcans war in 91

Dunno how good are the intentions of protesters, but as a general rule of thumb, I support change. Usually is then their leaders that then take advantage of what has been done.

I like it a lot, but for now it looks like a Gears Of War mod. In a good way, i mean, that's an awesome game... but because of the setting and the hype i'm hoping to see something more, like an heavier accent on exploration and puzzle solving above all (a-la Batman Arkham).

i wanted to see it. like there's any point advertising on mapcore
Well, I guess the thought process is that your game could get tweeted by a decently renown dev from an important studio. This guy would be probably followed by some press, so the thing could start get some attention…

Wish you best of luck friend!
Can't imagine how stressful this must be, since what you also recently wrote here; hope that they notice you are an hard worker with ethics and keep you.
Size of the house, don't worry about that, the important thing is to provide a roof for the child… I can assure you for personal experience that when he'll grow up he'll nostalgically remember where he came from and appreciate more the place where you'll move in the future

you obviously haven't used unity
My comment had to be on games i've seen. Ok "annihilates" might be a too strong term, but on average the UE3 games out there seems to me prettier than Unity powered ones.
@Robert: thanks for the explanation, i was just curious, since your portfolio features prominent UE-powered stuff and you talked about using plugins to make use of Unity much alike UDK

Wish you best of luck for the project.

Epic has announced Fortnight that i can remember, dunno if there's an "unannounced project" or they are keeping it more quiet.

My skepticism is because D4 is so far away that promoting already a beta is…
Also: beta of what? We expect an sp game!
