I've always build my PCs as well i'm thinking of the small factor because I have a tiny tiny room and frankly, it's not like nowdays we need to think much about "expanding". You swap disk for a larger one and access the old through NAS/docks.

Is really AMD something to consider again? How it's doing now in terms of heat and how does it stack up to Intel's CPUs?

RAM is still DDR3, I was thinking of an 8+8 solution (unless I can go for a single module for the same cost, to buy a second maybe later).

I don't understand why going for an old nVidia when newer models cost the same? A GTX 770 comes up on Amazon for 244£.

I was looking at this two months ago, I must get back to it.

I was looking at building a compact machine though, using one of those small HT cases. Apparently lots of them can fit normal size VGAs.

Mazy: it's (unfortunately) clear from a simple randomly picked recent video that the car is basically just pivoting on it's central axis. Ridiculous, and not because of GTA5. Despite they throw 2000 staff at these projects, you can easily find indies doing better… and I think I've read that they even knocked at the door of the Driver's devs? O.o

In summation: If I plan out every possible aspect of the game in text / GDD / sketches what will my costs be for a PC simulation / building / interactive settlement management game?

You can't.Unless you're ripping off another game, copying all the mechanics, you're gonna find that certain things work and other not, the iterative process is gonna waste you time, hence money.

You're also gonna find that art that you think it's supercool doesn't work because of visual legibility, or people will tell you they don't understand what that is or simply hate it.

Agree with you d3ads; in this case I suppose they projected they can profit from the operation with much less effort than a totally new project. And while producing it they can polish their pipeline and next-gen tools and be more productive on the new project that I'm sure is gonna come next.

As per the AI subject, I dunno what's wrong with this game, but I'm unimpressed by anything that comes out. I'll consider we've got ourselves a next-gen when someone is gonna come out with something good in this field. To me this looks as the area where games should really improve and where it's gonna show, like it happened with physics.

It's just the industry resetting to default. Remember how dominant the PS2 was?

PS2 came out first with an almost 2 years lead in availability. Also is written nowhere that Sony does things better as a general rule. Is not like they had that fierce competition back then - that's how I always saw the console state of the game (but I never really got interested in consoles before last gen).

I would find a new Sony-dominated future pretty scary, they appear quite a lazy and monolithic company to me, with little interest in change. Meanwhile MS have been trying to do things competitors weren't doing, like serious digital distribution, serious motion, serious media center/hub; they might have fucked up, but they've been trying, (involuntarily) giving hints to others in the process - which results in better products for everyone.

    Loads of fun!

It's on Now TV, it's Sky's equivalent of Netflix that features all the stuff Sky somehow keeps exclusive (like HBO stuff, Game of Thrones and such). I use that and Netflix on my PS3 for ultimate programming coverage, only like £13/month for both.

Uh, so it's quite cheap. (Sky)If it works similarly to netflix and I can share it with my in-law, from whom I get netflix, I could return the favour.

Are there other sedmrvices worth considering? Sometime ago I saw an ad but when I was looking for the service I couldn't remember the name xD but I always had the feeling it was sky related, so maybe it's this Now thing.

    Argo - extended cut

Very good movie, Affleck definitely knows how to direct IMO (well I was sold already sometime ago).

Not sure if I mentioned recently I watched Gone Baby Gone, also by Affleck.

Hannibal is in my plans, problem is right now I use only netflix, dunno where they air it in UK and anyway problematic to catch up.

Just to say make it easy on yourself, you don't have to throw you rocks dude ! If you think you've done an error or anything of the like.

I get what ou mean, thanks for the clarification!
Well yes, i'd say my pride is hurt you know, you think "if i did manage to make it feel good it wouldn't have stopped before even starting".
I always held back myself too much, both for politeness(?) and not to get hurt... but you know, that is finally my last concern: i moved to break clear and live differently, experience as much as possible, and relationships are part of the game.

But you've made a good point and most probably there's some of that as well in the mix of reasons that led to this.

And as Thrik said, who knows. We have to live together, there's no bitterness so i'm sure awkwardness will go away soon and we'll enjoy each other's company. And maybe at some point we'll walk in some func_trigger that will open a special door

    So much want FAAAAAAAAAPPPPP!

My only complaint is with Batman's design that in the whole serie is a bit too bulky, i prefer Arkham Knight's just a bit fittier silhouette.

knj: i'm assuming this is in-game (in-engine), it's so less crispy than the promo shots we've seen. Could it be just the compression? Yeah lacks of real gameplay, maybe they titled it so because it "shows" how the Batmobile works.

Jesus man that sounds intense. Girls have way too high expectations about romance these days.

Thanks, it was! And a really nice experience to live. But I kinda feel the opposite about romance, I mean girls talk about it, but in the end it's not fundamental to kick start things… probably more to keep things going though!

She probably wanted to feel a bit better about herself blackdog. And well, not any further, at your cost. After 5 years of relationship, you don't want to get engaged in something, but you still need to prove to yourself you are able to seduce again i guess. Which didn't mean she was thinking badly of you […]

I didn't look at the situation from this angle, I'm not sure if you mean it this way, but I don't think she purposely lead me on, planning to end it so abruptly. Before the debacle I felt she was looking at me like there was nothing more interesting in the room and continuously buzzing around me, joining whatever social activity I joined or proposing me to do things. As well as she looked sad when things didn't engage between us, like a kid holding a broken toy.

Afterall she's 32 (I'm 31) and she travelled half the world having serious adventures (like she was in New Orleans when Katrina hit), I think she knows pretty much what she wants, or the way things have to go to please her.

Of course after relationships that long you don't plan for the next one, but it's not like I was looking for something like that anyway: one step at a time
