What do you read these days? Every game mag or journo is on a wokeness path that obfuscates the content you really interested in.

To decide what I’ll buy/play I’ve been basing my judgment on gameplay extracts most of all for the last 15 years. I know nowadays they fudge these presentations more and more, but I haven’t been really disappointed since the original Prey. And I have so much back catalog that I only buy during sales, so there isn’t much to complain even if I at some point stumble on a bad title.

We haven’t heard anything for our area (SE UK), but I’m not looking forward for things to go back ? I’ve only just started working from home, returning to normal means having to move up north because of the new job. They were talking of a slow re-entry, then just back to work in June (if possible)… I heard something on a call about looking to return after Easter?(!) I hope that means for those willing.

I only watched a few minutes, but I found funny when the journo asks a question quite at the start, and the dev completely ignores him. Uncomfortable silence and then picks up from his script. Bless them.

It does look repetitive, but from the podcast I understand it’s just a tech demo atm. Also I think all/most assets are from the Quake version… surely they want to retain the blocky and grainy look but slowly take more advantage of UE4 strengths(?).

I quite like the flow, if they can make it like a shooty Mirror’s Edge could be interesting. If it just focuses on rocket jump (the creator was a rocket jumping “personality”?) then I wouldn’t be interested.

Atm reminds me vaguely of Crackdown but in FPS form, when I played that game I played similarly to this, jumping over buildings and using the stomp on landing was a blast in that game.

Sharing the source doesn’t mean that people should copy stuff, but it should be a way to learn how to achieve certain things.

I’ve been following the Quake community and I understand it’s the norm to release the source file.

Ofc the problem with CSGO and any modern game is that it’s much more taxing. Sharing requires much more physical space, the workshop doesn’t support releasing this etc.

I just discovered this because the author was on the latest episode of the Quakecast. The project was in fact started on Quake (Darkplaces fork) but after hitting some snags it was posted to UE4. They are doing the same thing of Graven in building the maps in Trenchbroom and importing in UE.

Fascinating that the creator is a musician by trade.

The teaser and two gameplay tests are the footage that exists for the project at the moment

Dunno @FMPONE, don't think Netflix themselves hyped it. Title sounds familiar, maybe a new season just came out? Trailer for the early stuff looks pretty cheesy, considering it's been running alongside stuff like Vikings that seems much more gritty.
