Wow I feel I’ve never seen a team moving in such unison like this Gambit team #blastpremier

  • How do I generate ideas for unique layouts in CSGO Wingman maps?

Follow on social accounts that post architecture, like there’s one I remember called Abandoned Places, then you can find many Pinterest boards managed by designers where #reference #inspiration shots are posted.

I have been collecting scraps of paper from tourist leaflets and magazines as well. I look at couple shots from different angles and I try to figure out what’s the real layout and if it suits a map, or how two locations in the same town would connect and make for interesting gameplay.

You could also start by actually copying someone else layout and then in the process you’d end up changing things. Or think of a reskin.

You could also create small areas, what would suit for choke points, sites, etc, create a bunch and then try and combine them like Lego.

I guess @Freaky_Banana that’s just the nature of things for testing community content… unless you’re in a studio environment or a very well known creator, you’re gonna bump into that wall.

Maybe you can get someone prominent to feature your map (which looks dope for theme IMO) or try getting in touch with those that manage servers with custom maps anyway, like 3kliksphilip.

I remember replaying Alan Wake from start for both DLCs, was great way to experience it.

For Control I have the complete experience and they’re already out so won’t be exactly the same. I also wonder and kinda expect them to mix in the original experience like I’ve seen other games do (like in Just Cause 3 the flying base full of mechs is just already there before you finish the full campaign).

For the cards… seems like the only way to get something is to resort to pre-built PCs ?

Really a weak E3 as far as I'm concerned, this was the most interesting presentation I've seen of them...

my interest in Sable has gone a bit down, love the art but not sure about the game itself, I only saw a few gifs on twitter and was expecting an action title really.

The stop-motion-like game is the one that I haven't seen mentioned by anyone but that struck me the most. It's done so well, and for a team that seems to be doing all in-house (acting and voice acting) it's a work of art.

Don’t think my GeForce 970M will do it justice. I figured if to play decent I have to lower the settings might as well play on the console.

Oh I was just thinking this morning I need to check what’s free this week.

I have it on PS4 and will play it on there first, but if is good as everybody says I would enjoy replaying it once I have a new machine that can run all the fancy stuff.

I was actually thinking if to start this again, I tried and did like the very first but when you meet first survivors, but was so shattered that night I was actually falling asleep pad in hand.

Maybe after Uncharted 4, I should be very near the end of that one.

Do you have a specific example of a highly stylized game you think might benefit?

No, was just thinking if it could be something that would work across the board. I would say “if the devs want to emphasise lights”, but then thought that any game looks nicer with better light control.

Dunno, stuff like this I was imagining

I still have hope that if you remove the old GI solution and replace it with Lumen that maybe you can hopefully get something close but you are probably right, it won't hit full parity performance-wise but it should hopefully look much better (otherwise what's the point :D ).

You think heavily stylised games would benefit to jump ship? Say you are just starting production now… this stuff alone could make them look so much better (IMO).

Mmh not sure if we got our wires crossed, what I mean with naive is that we’ve always (I think) seen that for any new generation of software we also need more powerful hardware.

We’ve seen a slowing of this in the last decade(?), and in certain aspects we end up with underused hardware even, but –overall– you don’t expect to get something as complex as a game engine to run on par or better than the previous generation on the same hardware, or at least not unless you’re running the bleeding edge of available hw.

Sure, I’m not surprised that some parts of the engine have massive gains thanks to innovation, i wasn’t contesting your tests by the slightest ;)

by the way super interesting tests you’re doing, I got the gist of it but of course it mostly goes over my head
