Yeah had great fun on the map and I genuinely jumped twice whilst camping for people in the sewers. I got lazy and started to move only to find someone walking around the corner .

Yeah I have read the first one and it's great! Far more brutal than the show and the characters are way more interesting. It's very different to the show in some places (the show only loosely follows the comics) so it's not like you're going to be reading the same stuff that happened in the TV show again. You also find out what happened during the winter months since they've missed that out of the tv show.

The comics are black and white all the way through I might add, but it in now way detracts from the awesomeness that is going on! Definitely worth picking up both, they will take you up to issue 96 (the comics only recently reached issue 100 so you wont be too far behind the comics picking these up). The first compendium will probably (I'm guessing, depends what they do with the TV show) take you up to the end of season 3 of the TV show.
