Went ahead and bought this last night. Installed it on my home PC whilst I was at work so when I got home I could just load it straight up. What an age we live in

Anyway, found this game much easier to get into. I think I'm playing on normal and the combat feels good. Done a few side quests and having a lot of fun exploring the world and talking to everyone. Think I'll be able to sink a lot of hours into this

Do you need to have played the first two games to really get into this one?

Never played the first and I kinda found it hard to get into the second one since I found it quite difficult. Watching a few streams this seems like it might be a little easier to play this. Is that correct?

FONV has nothing on FO3. The setting and explorable locations were so much better, and far more interesting.

But it definitely needs the progression system of skyrim, where you gain experience with the weapons you use and if you sneak. Maybe they could include stamina and health in that as well... melee characters would naturally have their health increase faster to complement their tanky nature, and characters who run a lot would have increased stamina letting them hold their breath more or swing more with a weapon.

Please let there be coop as well, that would be icing on the cake.

Yeah I'd love to see a better progression system. I shouldn't be able to dump points into lockpicking after not picking a single lock.

I'm not sure about coop though. I think the magic of Fallout is that you're pretty much alone in the wasteland and you need to make your own way through your own story. Though I guess it wouldn't be so bad to let someone control a companion you might have with you. Still, I think I'd rather play alone in Fallout.

I'd agree the locations and the feel of Fallout 3 was leaps and bounds ahead of Fallout: New Vegas. I think it looked better too, but I guess that's down to the world being slightly smaller. I think FO:NV kind of had a better story and some improved mechanics. They're both great games in my eyes, can't get enough of the Fallout universe

So excited.

I bought it and I've already sunk two hours into the single player. I've found myself exploring Black Mesa again even though I explored this version 3 years ago, I've forgot much of what I experienced back then. I think in my hype I kinda rushed it back then.

I was a bit torn too, but after 10 years of work I figured 15 quid is nothing. I've never played HL:DM. Maybe I'll give it a spin with this.

I backed this since it's only a tenna for a Steam key. Loved the original Banjo-Kazooie loads so if this is anything like that I'll be happy.

Looks like a blast! Quite enjoyed the second one so will most likely pick this up. Hoping it has multiplayer support from the off this time, some of the MP videos from 2 look mental xD

To be honest most of the sessions I've joined have been pretty fun. I've not encountered any hackers yet and nobodies been overly violent. Then again I've normally got 3 or 4 friends with me so maybe people give us a big buffer zone

I'd rather play in populated sessions personally. I like the chaos of it all

Yeah the initial load for me is pretty quick on my SSD. Hopefully Rockstar will fix the connection issues to reduce the online load times!

I really don't know what to put on my custom number plate though xD

An SSD won't help since it appears to be the actual connecting to other players/sessions which is taking so long. The actual loading is pretty fast normally.
