I love it how Ronaldo is already crying one match in. What a disgusting human being.

Haha! That's like people who complain in CSGO when another team uses a weird tactic.

"Who even does that?" Who cares, it worked!

I'm not watching the Euro's and I don't care about football but I bet he starts diving and holding his leg soon too :P

Yeah what happened to this? I've not googled or anything but I was looking forward to it and was seeing advertisements and then silence. Is it really bad?

Yeah I got a very DoD vibe from this.

Great looking game though. Love the locations shown and the gameplay looked pretty solid too. Now hopefully there's an open beta so I can try it before I commit any money.

Well done though guys! Looks awesome.

It's kind of like the Rocket League of shooters I guess? Once you load into the game you just set up your party, choose a game mode and go. After that you keep getting moved from game to game until you're done playing. According to Blizzard the average game length is between 6 and 9 minutes long (https://bnetcmsus-a.akamaihd.net/cms/content_fo…63709403948.png) which is great for just picking up and having a quick few rounds with some friends.

I'd say it's worth the asking price. There's plenty of variety with the heroes and the maps (and future heroes and maps will be free) and in the short time I've been playing I've had some wicked close games. I'd expect a lot more close games once everyone learns the heroes better. Competitive should be interesting and it'll be fun trying to unlock everything for all of the classes. I doubt I'll drop any money on it since I'm not too fussed about the cosmetic side of the game. I'll just enjoy looking at everyone elses skins since I never see my own!

I think I'll be staying off social media from now on. Ep5 was kinda spoiled with people posting the last line all over the place. Didn't really "spoil" the ending but once it happened and you've already heard it it loses some of it's impact.

Spoiler Yeah the TV writing is really starting to show in places. No need for Summer and the Children of the Forest to die. Though they may not be the last of the CotF?

Interesting how the CotF created the Others though. Will be really interesting to see all this expanded upon in the future.

I loved the little play about the Robert Baratheon and Ned Stark though. That was really well done!

They have two more being tested internally too don't they?

I do agree about it being easy to learn too. I understand how all the heroes work after only reaching level 11 (The game mode with random heroes was very helpful with this). But this may also be down to how readable the game is.

That said, I know how the all work, but I've in no way mastered any of them, and I bet after a while some people will get very good at their favourite heroes.

It looks like fun in the short clips I see where people are bunny-hopping around and destroying demons in pools of blood. But I don't think I could play it in long bursts. It'd get tiring quickly. Probably gonna grab this in a sale though.

Sweet! Would make sense with the hype 3 will build and there will be new players to 3 who haven't played the originals and would likely pick it up.

So this came as a surprise yesterday when my friend linked me to the Steam page for this. Got me very excited!

I'm really digging the new art style too!

And some of the new mechanics sound interesting. I especially like that there seems to be some multiplayer game modes which run shorter games which are designed to be finished in one session. More often than not me and my friends never finished games because they went on for too long or we couldn't continue on another day because one of us wasn't there. I also like the sound of the districts in the cities and the way you set up your tiles affecting how fast you research certain things.

    Quote

Quote EXPANSIVE EMPIRES: See the marvels of your empire spread across the map like never before. Each city spans multiple tiles so you can custom build your cities to take full advantage of the local terrain.

ACTIVE RESEARCH: Unlock boosts that speed your civilization’s progress through history. To advance more quickly, use your units to actively explore, develop your environment, and discover new cultures.

DYNAMIC DIPLOMACY: Interactions with other civilizations change over the course of the game, from primitive first interactions where conflict is a fact of life, to late game alliances and negotiations.

COMBINED ARMS: Expanding on the “one unit per tile” design, support units can now be embedded with other units, like anti-tank support with infantry, or a warrior with settlers. Similar units can also be combined to form powerful “Corps” units.

ENHANCED MULTIPLAYER: In addition to traditional multiplayer modes, cooperate and compete with your friends in a wide variety of situations all designed to be easily completed in a single session.

A CIV FOR ALL PLAYERS: Civilization VI provides veteran players new ways to build and tune their civilization for the greatest chance of success. New tutorial systems introduce new players to the underlying concepts so they can easily get started.

Well they say they will release new maps and heroes for free so that should extend the longevity of the game initially. I guess it all depends on how profitable the game will be. If it makes them a nice bank full of cash I'm sure they'll be willing to keep supporting the game.

I wish they would just keep the beta open or just release the game though. I just want to keep playing X(

I got to level 10 over the weekend and had an absolute blast playing it. Took me back to the old TF2 days.

I found playing the random hero mode pretty helpful. Forced me to play heroes I wouldn't normally try and it really helped me understand how to combat them and understand what their skills do.

I really enjoy playing Lucio. Got a few potg replays with Genji, Trojborne (sp?) and Mai. Going to enjoy one last game at lunch today before the beta closes and then there's the long wait until release! :(

Yeah I think he meant it doesn't really need a remaster. It still holds up pretty well.

It clearly is a cash grab though. CoD4 is probably one of people's favourites and they know people will cough up cash for it. Can't really blame them though.

tip2 - I don't think there's anything quite like the pyro in here. I guess mei is a little like him but freezes stuff rather than cooks? There's a medic character too that I haven't tried. I enjoy playing as the junkrat as he's basically demoman and I don't have to aim well to kill things

Added. Ren#2237 if anyone wants to add me.

I wasn't looking for an exact pyro replica, just watching some guy and I saw that freeze character causing a lot of havoc so I may try it. I'm just going to try a few classes and try to learn the game as I play. It's nice you get the kill cams so you can see where you went wrong or how they countered you. Should pick it up quick enough hopefully!

    Cheers!

Only just taking notice of this game. Watched a guy streaming this yesterday and luckily the open beta is now out. I'm actually very excited to play this at lunch today!! Would be nice to scratch the TF2 itch again.

I'm not sure what hero to play. In TF2 I loved playing as Pyro and I think I was a pretty sick medic. Any tips?

The tools seem to be the same as the previous Creation Kits from what they showed in the trailer. Was hoping for something a little more modern because I found the previous CK's really clunky but I will most likely try to find some time and give this a go.
