Never read it, but perhaps I'll enjoy the film even more because of that.

    Looks like something I'll enjoy

Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn - I really enjoyed watching this; I'm not huge into the Halo universe, so pretty much all of the context and backstory in the film were new to me.

Going to see the new Iron man tonight, hopefully that's good as well.

Nothing fancy, but it'll get the job done. Planning on either a new vid card or a second for cross Fire.

Kingdom Of Heaven (Director's Cut) - Surprisingly decent effort following in the footsteps of Ridley's 'Gladiator', make sure you watch this version because otherwise you're missing out on 50 minutes of extra plot that add much more narrative to the original cinema version.

OooOoo, I really enjoyed Kingdom of Heaven way back when; it may be REALLY LONG, but it's also a fantastic watch. This is a film you should watch if you enjoy medievil / swords and shield kind of movies.

Also, Firefly, again. Still... so... amazing!

I saw it and loved it. One thought, I don't think its fair to try comparing this to the Dark Knight; because the two movies are practically different genres. The Dark Knight was very comic book-ish style and action heavy, humorous etc, while The Dark Knight Rises is simply a strong story telling movie with a fair bit of action. They did well to tie it into the previous films, and WOW the ending was great! Both great movies, different reasons. The first is excellent as well

    lol - don't worry I got it

    Quote from Chimeray

It sucks but there's no way around it, no money = no games. People working in the industry love making and playing games but that doesn't mean you can get around it. It's still a business, sadly. In the end, studios make games that sell so they can make the next one.

Unless you gain the money from something else, for instance Steam, then you don't need to worry about anything cos you have a cashcow and you can just focus on what matters, making good games.

Thank god we're making games rather than flip-flops though.

Well, I can't blame anyone for wanting to have a reasonably stable job, and we all appreciate your making Battlefield games instead of flip-flops I'm sure. Its unfortunate that people aren't able/ willing to buy more new IPs, but I understand that reasonably well; I don't have a lot of money to spend on games - yet. Perhaps that is partially why I don't like yearly models, by the time the new one comes out I can probably only grab one full priced title for the next while and why would I want the exact same thing I already have?

since medal of honor didn't work as EA's CoD, BF has to take on that role...

That's interesting, and evidently true since you have to pre-order the new Medal of Honor to get beta access for the next Battlefield. But perhaps they haven't given up on Medal of Honor yet, maybe they want to try and get people into it using Battlefield? I imagine they mostly want to gain some extra sales, but have the pipe dream of Medal of Honor gaining a solid fan base for the future.

I suppose at the end of the day Battlefield is an incredibly popular series that is unique enough to move a fan base from game 3 to 4 to 5 just like CoD can. Can't blame them for going for it. But I also can't help but wonder what other awesome games these people could create.

Solution: Don't make shit products. Capitalism 101

vgchartz lists 13.5million sales of bf3. i guess people want it huh

I think its fair to say we all know BF3 is a well liked game. The question is: Should they make a sequel so soon, why not make something different? I understand the tech is built for Battlefield already, and this makes it easier and less costly to produce another Battlefield game. But they were rather successful as you say, and they already have expanded content in the premium memberships which will make them even more money. Why not take the opportunity to make a different game? I'm not a fan of the yearly sequel model, I prefer to have a fair amount of time between sequels if they are not dealing with a progressive story, such as Mass Effect.

What are your thoughts on this? I'd be interested to hear what everyone thinks about this.
