I guess that's not Clerks @Sprony?
It's not. By now you guys should have spotted a trend that I usually go for old films, although Clerks would fall into that category, I tend to go even more old school

They could have knocked it out of the park with this one but they dropped the ball really hard. Also, where the hell is PS VR? For something that's supposed to come out soon, they better hurry up and start showing us something!
I saved money to go pro, but I don't see any reason why I should.

I'm killing it as a sniper man and I was always a up close kinda guy. Hell, I'm even in the top list with most handgun kills. I'm loving it. Especially when you line up that perfect shot from miles away and shoot a guy from a horse or a jeep.

This will probably differ depending on where you live, but let me tell you about my recent experience with the DLC. I was eager to play it, but here comes the kicker, it's impossible. You literally buy something you cannot play. Here's why:
Doom offers several game modes but only TDM is being played. I tried to find players in matchmaking for the other ones, but I got nothing. Now, if you only want to play the Unto the Evil maps, you can do so in a mix of all the modes. But seeing as how everybody plays TDM, the matchmaking doesn't work. So, I tested this spread out over several days and on different times (morning, midday, evening and night) but again, I got nothing. Eventually I decided to time it while doing household choirs. I returned 30 minutes later and the matchmaking still didn't manage to find enough players (even though 3 is the minimum).
There's no option for hosting your own maps or playing with bots. With means the only way for me to access the new maps is to play TDM and hope that a new map pops up in rotation. I played for 5 hours and got one game on a new map. It's the equivalent of buying a new car, but not being allowed to take it home with you. Instead you have to wait outside your house, days on end, in the hope that the dealer will drive by and let you do a quick round around the block. I'm really pissed off about this because the maps look great and that one round I did play, was a much better experience due to overall better map design (not just visually).
They said in June that they would update the MP with features like private matches and a vanilla mode. But that's 3 months ago and the game is out for 5 months. I can only imagine that they've run into some serious problems with the MP framework, which is apparently P2P and overloaded with cheaters. I hope it gets sorted out soon otherwise there won't be anybody left to play the MP with.

I'm not a designer, but it's not very different with writing really. I've spend an insane amount of time on doing an in depth interview that nobody cared about but a short news post about a popular game I did was trending for days. That hurts, so I understand where you are coming from. But at the end of the day, it's not about the number of likes or how many people you reach, but that you made something you are proud of. Sure, validation is always nice, but it should never be the goal.
@FrieChamp said it best. You are looking for something that doesn't exist. I've done enough interviews to know that there isn't a single studio out there with a perfect pipeline. Game design is about doing the best with what you have and iterate on that. From what I'm told, it's a pain to make content for Destiny. Id-tech 6 requires a render farm thus slowing down some of the processes. The engine of Unreal Tournament keeps getting updated and breaking things. The list goes on. You have great games out there that failed to reach an audience and you have games that get such toxic feedback you are ashamed to be a part of the human race.
Find something you like. Something you believe in and make it. Forget demographics, audiences, current technology, feedback and what not. I know people who do amazing things with Quake and that's 20 years old. Stuff they enjoy doing more than their work in the industry. Let it all go and forget these endless discussions. Because after all is said and done, more is said than done

Plus, if I was a recruiter, I would be more impressed with people who made awesome stuff with crappy tools than the other way around.

It's just a lame re-release. If only an honest studio would have picked up the rights and set out to do Duke some justice. I still believe there could be a place for Duke in modern gaming. Can you imagine if MachineGames would do a new Duke Nukem?
