I know that movie, something with dollars in the title. Can't remember exactly. It's with Clint.

The game holds up surprisingly well. Really great game. Awesome blend of adventure and horror elements. I think I'll do another play through with Chris and maybe even go for the 3 hour trophy.

One thing I was super surprised about was how good this game looks. It's an HD version of a remake from the early 2000's but it still looks really really good. Obviously part of this is due to the game environment being somewhat pre-rendered but even then it still looks really good. They have lots of nice little touches of motion which I'm guessing is done by super-imposing some real 3d elements with high res textures/shaders over the world.

I'm looking forward to the RE2 remake that's supposed to come out any day now. It seems it's never been a better time to play the RE series.

Yeah, it's one of my favorite survival horror games. I think that 2 will still take a while though. Different engine and far more work than 1 and 0.

Ended up going with the south pole's research station. Its elevated base and underground tunnels/dome gave a lot of easy ways to "wall off" routes:

Still planning on small easter egg references like the coil/petri dish and outpost 31 though :D

I can understand that. The easter eggs are a good idea, you could do many without it feeling out of place.

Have you heard of locomalito? He's remade ghouls and ghosts twice now too. Just in case you need more than one game to satisfy that itch.

It was infuriating to hear he say my line manager "said too much" when she informed me they were "thinking of offering an 'assistant manager' position" in December... that means that wasn't an offer and we've spent two months raveling on it for nothing!?

I don't even know how much I have to wait for progress on this bs position now, the boss was saying the offer is being delayed by the fact that the girl in HR in Head Office has been sick three weeks (dafuq come on); yesterday while doing my Personal Development Review (the second in 3.5 years working here!) my line manager didn't sound confident that this offer will be here soon! So I'm like supposed to do all this extra stuff good for experience without the pay and job title to put on the CV?

I'm sorry to say man, but they are fucking you over. I don't know what the law is in the UK, but here you have job descriptions listing your responsibilities. I was in a similar situation as you once and when they refused to give insight into the promotion I immediately stopped doing the work. This had major consequences and they tried to force me, however they couldn't because I was still doing exactly what was listed in my job description. Then they tried to fire me, but I had the law on my side and eventually I got the promotion, a nice raise and quite some extra money to compensate for the time I had been doing the job but nothing getting paid accordingly.

The thing is, most employees are too scared to pull stuff like that. Because you have rent to pay, groceries to buy or a family to support. So not only does it take balls, it also involves a lot of risk. In my case it turned out great, but it could just as easily gone another way and companies exploit that fear.

Point is, back in the day I didn't let companies fuck me over. Hell, I even walked out on a job. But it's easier without a house/family/children. For the last 2 years I was in such a bad place I let my old job fuck me until I couldn't sit anymore. But hey, as soon as I wasn't in that bad place anymore, I took action and again, I'm better of.

TL:DR - Don't take no shit from nobody!

  • Bill Paxton dies at 61

    • February 26, 2017 at 6:23 PM

It's with great sadness that I learned that one of my favorite actors, Bill Paxton, has died due to complications after surgery. Of course, everybody will remember his iconic roll as Hudson in Aliens, but the man did so much more. From small roles as a soldier in Stripes or a Intercept Officer in Commando to the leading man in Twister.

Still, that doesn't even scratch the surface. He's in so many things I love and he always owned the part. Be it a crazy vampire in Near Dark, a car salesman in True Lies, an astronaut in Apollo 13 or the man looking for the Titanic. His movie (which he starred and directed) Frailty still resonates with me today. I now realize, that Edge of Tomorrow is the last time I will have seen him on the big screen since I didn't watch Nightcrawler in the theater.

You know, the older I get the more things I gotta leave behind, that's life. But even though I didn't know him personally, this still hurts. I'll close with the man's own classic line:

How come there is no topic for this amazing game? It's by far one of the prettiest games I've ever played. The art design is ridiculous good, really top notch stuff. Also, it's one of the best narrative experiences I've had with a game. I know I'm a bit late to the party, but nobody should miss out on this little masterpiece. Posted for awareness.
