fuck you if you haven't played HL1, what the fuck is wrong with you.
If this is pointed towards me, then you misunderstood my post. I've played and finished Half Life atleast a dozen times and the last time I played it was only a couple of months ago. Still having a blast.
The point I was trying to make was this: I can still play the original Doom with as much fun as back in 1993. But If you say System Shock is a classic, you should play it, I can't. It's simply too dated for me to get immersed in without the nostalgia factor to get me through. But, if I played in back then, I could still play it now. Does that make sense?

POR was by far the better team. It also was a decent match, no foul play. In interviews you can clearly see that there is a lot going on in the team that the media doesn't know. We are by far the weakest team of the group. I don't think it ever happend before that we didn't even manage to get a single point on a tournament. The country is in mourning.
It's back to the drawing board, because so much is wrong, we basically have to start over.
I think we can expect the remaining quarter finals will be Spain, Italy, France and England. Perhaps even Croatia instead of Italy. I'm guessing the final will be GER - SPAIN.

Even if we don't make it, it would be nice to win atleast one game

I completely agree. I never expected Greece to get through. But like you said, both Czech and Greece won deservingly so. I don't want to watch tonights game, but my wife insists. It's gonna be bad.

Prometheus in a nutshell. Read it here. Spoiler heavy!

I honestly hope that this last game, regardless of the outcome, will be a friendly game. But based on our history and the fact that the Dutch are extremely frustrated, I expect TOTAL WAR. On the other hand, since they haven't been willing to fight the first two games, perhaps it will be an easy push over for Portugal. But I'm definitely leaning towards the first rather then the second.
About calling them whining pussies. Yes, perhaps I'm biased. Maybe someone neutral can give his opinion on whether or not I'm right?

I just saw the Intouchables. It's a French film about a aristocrat who becomes a quadriplegic from a paragliding accident. He then hires a young man from the projects to be his caretaker. I didn't know what to expect but I was truly amazed. It's heartwarming but at the same time hilarious. I cannot imagine people not liking this movie. I really don't. You should see it!

The coach is benching the heart! It's Kuyt, I honestly think that if he were starting the entire Dutch team would perform better; he's just a really hard working, top quality player. Robben should stay on too but, they need to fit Kuyt in somewhere I think.
That's so true. But the entire setup doesn't make sense. Van Bommel, with although respect, is over the hill and can't keep up anymore. Plus, I was never impressed by him but they are counting on him to make the game. Van Persie is a great player, but in this team he should not be the center forward. He should be on the flank, Huntelaar in center and either Kuyt or Robben on the other flank.
The defense should be replaced almost completely. Since we lost van Bronckhorst, it's basically not there anymore. But the coach won't listen, he's sticking to the same setup for years. Not going forward is going backwards. I really hope it's over this Sunday because who wants to qualify for the next round like that? It would only be delaying the execution.

I had a brief period in my life where I was collecting old classics that I didn't play before. I just read or heard great things about them. Most of these game were pre 2002. I did not finish a single one of them because to me, they all looked atrocious. Even too atrocious to see if the gameplay could change my mind. On the other side, if I did play them before [back when they came out] I could still play them now and have the same amount of fun and never even think of them being atrocious. I replayed Diablo last summer and I had a blast. So it must be nostalgia. At least for me it is.

Thanks for all the examples. Much clearer now

Who cares about it's age? It's about gameplay. For me, only a couple of titles surpassed or came close to the original Half Life and that's 14 years ago. Graphics don't mean dick if the game itself is bad.
I'm surprised about this update though. I had given up on this mod a while back. Now they made me hopefull again. It's like being constantly cockteased

No, that's not very sportsman-like. But based on the game, he was probably very frustrated

Yeah, I feel the same about tonights games. I also have a bit of a hangover and after yesterday, I don't feel like watching. Perhaps tonight I'll think differently.

I really hope that Poland wins. And in Holland we say:"Voetbal is oorlog", which basically means:"Football is war"

-
I missed that about Robben. The papers aren't writing about it either so I wouldn't know.
Denmark - Portugal was a very nice game to see. Despite the whining on Portugals part. Really exciting and the Danes know how to put up a fight. But fair is fair, Portugal was better and deserved the win.

I'm drunk and feel violated. It's college all over again

What a humiliation. This Dutch team is nothing like the team that almost won the world cup. There's simply no heart.
-
What a bunch of whining pussies! Portugal should form an actors club. Don't get me wrong, they are the stronger team and the goals were beautiful but who wants to win like that? They keep faking injuries and fouls, it ruins the game.

Seriously, there must be someone I can bribe for a key!

This is a great tournament so far. I think Group A is definately the most interesting. Great games and the team that surprised me the most by far is Russia. If the Dutch somehow manage to survive Group B I think it will be over if we have to face them. Sorry, but Portugal will be crushed by them based on what I saw.
I also hope that Poland reaches the next round. They play with a lot of heart. I can appreciate that. Tonight is a big night for us. It's either going to be an epic fail or show of strength. I think it would be best for us if Portugal loses otherwise all of us will have 3 points.
Everybody is tensed at the office.
