Is it sold out everywhere?
Quote from FrieChampThe XBOX ONE won't be released in the Netherlands before April?
Looked it up, best estimate is early 2014.
Not the most recent news but apparently Quake Live will be a free standalone game. You can read the announcement here.
QuoteWill there be Mac/Linux support?
We will be unable to support Mac and Linux clients with this transition. While we have reports from our testers that the game works through emulation or virtualization software, we are unable to support native Mac and Linux versions. If you’re using Mac and Linux and have a paid subscription, you will only be able to access the game using emulation or virtualization software.
This part baffles me. You would think that the guys who invented it would know that competitive gamers will never accept running an online game through emulation while the competition can run on a native client. Besides that, seeing Id's history with Linux/Mac support and Valve's upcoming SteamOS, not too mention it's that the engine is known to run well on Linux/Mac, really makes me wonder what's the reasoning behind this.
Quake Live never made Id any money so that shouldn't be it. It's not a smart move for an already small community. Too bad!
When I came here I posted a similar question which received some excellent replies. Recommended read. You can find it
If you decide to go for CS:GO, check out Some very good pointers and links for Source related editing (including CS:GO).
The links below will come in handy since you are into MP. Although old and for Quake 3, most of it is still relevant:

Wow! After reading the Polygon review I'm pretty impressed. Lots of features I didn't know about. I'm also glad my expectations, as I said in the PS4 thread, are confirmed:
Quotethe Xbox One feels like it's from the future.
Perhaps the price has dropped by the time it get's released here (April I think). If so, I'll be picking this one up sooner then I expected ![]()
Excellent news. I'm very glad he'll be innovating at Occulus once more. Because let's face it, Id was holding him back. Now is als the right time for Zenimax to do something about Id itself and start bringing us some proper titles based on Id's franchises.
Here, the PS4 is sold out everywhere. They are going for 700 to 800 euro's on the black market. I'm seriously considering selling my pre-order. Because with the money I make I can buy 2 PS4's a couple of months later.
Quote from PogoPWhat? I think this is a bit shit. Part of the fun of Diablo was hording items for your other characters and pimping them out.
Do you still get random drops that aren't good for your character?
I can see your point. But I for one am glad I flooded with crap I don't need ![]()
Haven't experienced that yet.
Quote from BuddyArnold was supposed to star in "I am Legend" and "Minority Raport" but he didnt because of the governorship.
Plus he turned down the role of John McClane in Die Hard ![]()
He was also supposed to be Dr. Octopus in Cameron's Spiderman version.
Not to mention Sgt. Rock with Stallone and Willes.
He even flirted with the Tooth Fairy which was eventually made with Dwayne Johnson.
The biggest movie never made however is Crusades. This was supposed to be a Middle Age epic with elements of Spartacus and Conan. Directed by none other then Paul Verhoeven with an impressive cast including Robert Duvall, Jennifer Connelly, John Turturro, and Christopher McDonald.
You guys ask, Sprony delivers:
I might repeat some stuff I said earlier and some minor things could be spoiled. Be warned!
Adventure Mode:
When I started I made a new Crusader character and choose the campaign option. I started in Act 1 and I immediately got nightmares due to horrible story and retarded quests of the original. I quit because I never want to play through that again. I decided to select adventure mode. The first thing you notice is the changes they made to the difficulty settings. No longer are you forced to finish each difficulty level. Instead you can immediately choose between normal, hard and expert. Master and torment have to be unlocked. Made the wrong choice? Don't worry. You can lower the difficulty setting during the game or you can change the Paragon levels to give you a bigger challenge. It also let's you switch between characters effortlessly and the entire thing is very customizable. In adventure mode you have access to the entire map of each act. All way-points are immediately accessible and you can jump to any point you want in the game and start going at it.
Bounties:
On the map you will find different bounties which seem to change each time you play. These bounties consists of assignments like killing a boss, completing an event or clearing a dungeon. You can jump between bounties throughout all acts. You don't have to finish them. You can abort anytime. Completing them will give you loot and experience points. This mode takes away a lot of the repetitiveness and completely avoids Diablo's story.
Nephalem Rifts:
Completing bounties results in unlocking keys for Nephalem Rifts. These are basically loot runs or boss runs from Diablo 2. They teleport you to a special dungeon which is completely randomized. It looks nothing like the usual maps found throughout the acts and event the enemies and bosses are random. Once you start you get a progression bar which fills up after slaying monsters. As soon as you hit 100% a random boss appears. After defeating the boss you can find more loot and earn experience.
Loot 2.0:
This is a completely different system than regular Diablo 3. Remember all those useless items? Gone! Remember having a ton of stuff for classes you don't play? Gone! Instead the drops are tailored to the class you are playing. In 15 levels I only found 3 items which couldn't be used by my crusader. Also, you don't get flooded with items anymore. You'll find little items with no color, you'll find blue items that actually advance as your character progresses and the yellow items are more valuable to you. I managed to acquire a better set of stuff for my character than I ever had in Diablo 3.
Crusader:
This class kicks ass. It's basically Dante from Dante's Inferno. You get a lot of cool skills and runes and you'll feel like a total bad ass while playing. Think of it as mix between the Barbarian and Paladin class from Diablo 2. I don't want to spoil any skills but you'll love it.
Gameplay:
This is more of the same which is a good thing. Especially with the changes mentioned above. The only thing that sticks out is the increase amount of random events. Which in turn brings more variety to all the hack and slashing. Act 5 is drop dead gorgeous and far more dark and macabre than the original game.

Quote from BuddyFrom the early screenings I've read that they actually got the whole police thing done good enough, this shoot could be all sorts of things though.
Not so much action in the movie I heard as well.
Based on the directors previous work it's probably similar to: End of Watch, Street Kings, Harsh Times and Training Day.
Quote from BuddyDisplay MoreConsider me hyped!
I heard first screenings were getting mixed reviews but they reshot parts of the movie.
I liked End of Watch so this should be good.
Thread renamed
Good!
And another version of this one because it's so bad ass:

Quote from PogoPI'm a huge console fan, so I don't know exactly why you just claimed I'm some kind of PC fanboy, that isn't what I was talking about here. I'm just not as excited for these consoles as I was for the 360/ps3. It was such a huge leap, I remember being blown away by them at the time! I'm just not feeling that same kind of anticipation around these new consoles, it's more like an upgrade than an evolution. I suppose that's to be expected as graphics aren't improving as fast as they used to, because we've kind of hit a plateau
Killzone is getting pretty mediocre reviews; Infamous: Second Son isn't out on PS4 yet, and there is no Uncharted game for PS4. 'Why exactly should I have bought a PS4 on release?', is what I was saying. Don't you dare say Knack, lol.
I'm going to be getting an Xb1/PS4 at some point, because I want to play with my mates when we all upgrade. But I just don't see the appeal at the moment. And the lack of activity on this thread might be because a lot of other people feel the same way.
I known it's your opinion and I respect that but I have to disagree with some points. It's a graphical update for sure but the evolution is found in other places. Think about better online integration, the ability to record, share, invite and play together. More indies, a bigger step towards digital distribution. Touch pad, second screen, streaming, Gaikai cloud services, Playstation 4 eye, added motion detection and inevitable voice control (like the Xbox One). If any generation after felt like the future, this one is it.
Plus, like always, no launch line up is ever really convincing. I pre-ordered the Playstation for what's coming and not for what's already there ![]()
I hope the Steam release will feature the extra maps that we're made by the guy who's now on the team. Can't remember his name but he did a new version of Surface Tension and On a Rail. Huge overall improvement to the mod itself and it added a lot of content which was cut originally.
