    Dammit Seir you're right. So much time "wasted" with hammer.

    I read somewhere that new tools are in the works for Source, figure the folks at Valve are tired of Hammer too.

    Citrus if you want UDK you can get it at UDK.com, free to use. Theres also a free version of Unity, and a free version of Source on the way now that TF2 is Free to Play, otherwise just buy any Valve title you would be interested in modding and you'll get the tools.

    I'm not criticizing the game, I know absolutely nothing about it other than some of the people involved, which is kind of my point.

    That statement doesn't say anything about the game, its just a terrible fluff piece that tries to sound deep and mysterious by using contrary language.

    The original law was created based on the belief that the ESRB was an inadequate ratings system (despite being rated the strongest of all the voluntary ratings systems here in the US).

    This issue was never really about the content or kids being able to acquire it - the ruling doesn't mean that kids should be lining up to buy DNF (nor will they, because the already-established ESRB partnership with retailers already won't allow them to) - it's about the role of government in entertainment. This California law targeted only games, which the justices of the Supreme Court (rightly) ruled is a violation of 1st Amendment protections when compared to other forms of media. After all, why should a local, state, or federal government get to say whether or not Halo can be sold on store shelves while Eli Roth makes Hostel movies and no one bats an eye?

    An opposite ruling in this case would have relegated games to government oversight like alcohol, tobacco, and pornography instead of allowing them to exist in parallel to their peers of film, TV, music, books, etc, and would have set disastrous precedent for the entertainment industry as a whole. The Supreme Court made the right call, and it's a relief to see both sides of the political spectrum on the court generally agree (interestingly, the two dissenters were the two more extreme justices on either side, haha)

    Damn well said. Sad to see the Congressman who sponsored it played it like the Justices supported Big Business as opposed to the real issue of government control in entertainment.

    I honestly don't understand this argument with the game, loads of people have this issue.. but I've played it through twice now and both times I had no problems with having enough/ammo/money or filters. You need to take your time and explore everywhere, there are often things hidden in the most unlikely places.. and there are lots of hidden gold bullets scattered around the non-combat stations...

    What were your other issues with the game out of interest?

    I've now spent a solid 2 hours trying to get past this point at the dead city and its just not happening. 1 filter 18 assault rifle round about 12 pistol rounds and at least 14 of those monsters. Cool game but its getting shelved, at least temporarily.
