After starting up Metro 2033 for the first time yesterday, I cranked the settings up as high as they could go, it just looked like a busy mess on my old 15½" CRT.

I want to get a fairly large monitor (like 22"-24") and I came across this one on newegg:

Was wondering what some of you guys might suggest.

I like the L4D games but I've found that if you don't play it at least a few times every week and you suck because you don't play, expect to get bitched at every game you play because you're doing something incorrect [Blocked Image: https://migrationtest.mapcore.org/public/style_emoticons/default/mapcore_smilies/emot_shakehead.gif]

Found out about this game a few weeks ago, it's an online dark fantasy arpg that looks fairly interesting. Best of all, it's free, so even if you think it'll be crap you'll have no excuse to at least try it. Although D3 could be out by its release... still, it's free

Bah, even starcraft 2, it's mechs and hard-surface stuff, yet they have a smooth and rounded finish.

I know what you mean, they're almost a bubble version of themselves. I got used to it pretty quick though so hopefully I can do the same with D3 if they don't rough up some of their surfaces like they should.

Indeed, I've seen people have actual conversions with these types and not notice until several post later...

Just received my new Eat3d DVDs in the mail. Riki also sent me all of the other DVDs that I selected as downloads at no extra charge

Very sad indeed... I can only hope that more people would do a little thinking before acting. I don't even like to mess with the radio in my car for the simple reason the second I focus more on the radio than driving, something serious could happen.

I too agree with the manslaughter title, it makes no sense for the situation it gets applied to.

I hope this isn't too inappropriate for the thread but Brian Regan has a little bit on manslaughter:

Thanks Gloglebag! I recommend getting both the high and low poly vids if you haven't already. Riki goes over everything from start to finish (except for texture, the Next-Gen Texturing DVD is perfect for that though.)

I hope it's oldskewl but what ever it is, a game that'll have just under 15 years of dev time is something that has to be tried.

I wonder what the gameplay is going to be like, perhaps more old-school as in Duke3d, Doom, etc.

Yep, learned so much from their DVDs. I just ordered the UDK inro and UDK lighting DVDs the other day, all of their tutorials have been worth the $$$ so far

Portal left me feeling actually ecstatic for a while after which is a bit different to wanting more, eventually though I gave in to realising playing again would never have the same effect again.

Same thing for me, had the same feeling for Bioshock as well. Although any game with a story similar to Bioshock is never going to have the same impact the second time around. Having the mystery of the story revealed through out the game is one thing that made it so awesome. You already know everything when you go to play it again (Bioshock did have the option of saving/harvesting little sisters which does add more unknown elements to the game if you choose to go the opposite route your second time playing.)
