Why?
Don't get me wrong. I think those cinematics are amazing and I think they should continue making them. However, SC and Diablo barely passes for mediocre video game storytelling, so I can't imagine it doing any better as a movie. Except being a huge fan service, of course.
I think having this format for their cinematic stuff is what's making it so easy to enjoy. 
I guess I could see someone seeing this as ironic if they're not aware of who this guy is. However, this is not some random person and it makes the scenario of it being a scam/fraud too absurd to be considered ironic (if you know who he is, of course). 
What would the irony be? That the documentary is selling something?

I love L4D2. I've played it for +200 hours, but it's fucking impossible to play a decent game with a friend. It's been like this forever now.

I'm not much of a JRPG fan except maybe a few games like Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy (7 & 9), but this game has had me excited since I first heard about it. Everything I've seen and heard since then have just added to that. It's coming 22 january to US and 1 february to EU. I can't wait!!!

I guess it can be "justified" sometimes depending on how and in what extent it's done, but imho i think he should have gone with his integrity on this.
i have to agree. i have really high expectations for this game and i'm sure the game will go beyond those expectations, but that cover art is like wrapping a diamond in shit. it's doing a huge disservice to the game and everyone who made it.

Last night i dreamt that I was at Valve playing Half-Life 3. Most of my dream consisted of me just playing and having so much fun with it. However, It turned into a nightmare when i realized that the game was so good that it had reached the pinnacle of game design forever. Everything after it would be so much worse, so there would be no reason to make games anymore. I started crying ...then my phone alarm woke me up...
as for irl; i just played through max payne 3 which was pretty good, but the story and production values was what carried it the entire way.
