I had to do some unrelated quests before it was "unlocked". Keep a look at the different quest objectives/markers on the different characters.

no, it's meant to imply that blacks steal

jk lol etc. but i think the debate in terms of discrimination right now is about the game being misogynistic. Let's make a thread about it? and maybe throw some sarkeesian stuff on top of that? you know you want it. we can quote each others quotes all night

Still haven't had time to play it but here's a (slightly annoyed) article from the director/composer of the game:

    http://www.edge-online.com/features/the-i…tening-concept/

I gotta say I both agree and disagree... I like all the diversity we have in games at the moment and I like what they're trying to do, but it doesn't mean that it should be incompatible with gameplay mechanics... hah...

she's just regurgitating the most common argument in defense of minimalist (mechanics) design and completely ignoring the actual criticism against the game. I don't have anything against games like that and I think some of them are very interesting, but the issue here seems to be that they've removed vital components of the original game that made it flow/pace stimulatingly. the issue isn't that the game has X less mechanics than the original. so pointless...

got to play it for a few hours yesterday and saturday at a friend's house. it actually exceeded my expectations.

the driving and shooting is so much better. racing with a banshee (as franklin) is the most fun i've had with racing gameplay in any game. his special ability makes it incredibly satisfying

i don't mind that the city is smaller if it means more interactable buildings.

The series is about a family who movies into a "murder house" that is haunted by the people who were murdered there. I really like how they use the interaction and dynamics between the characters. Initially many of the characters are unrelated to each other, but during the series they are brought together through the house which creates this kind of machinery of character interaction. When something happens to the house it usually affects both sides (spirit side and material side) and it's usually interesting to see how differently they play it out. It's also cool how they use real life incidents like the black dahlia murder and incorporate this into the story. Besides, the maid is really hot.

conjuring was pretty good. some of the scares were quite creative. the movie didn't really get interesting until the latter half and the ending was a bit abrupt.

(nb: I don't work in the game industry and work with game design purely on a hobby-basis)

Studying art history is probably going to be a lot of fun. Being in a community where you have like-minded people sharing a common interest is extremely reinforcing and productive, and could very well be the most enjoyable time of your life. However, it's going to suck if you have absolutely no job prospects after doing this. I studied Bachelor of IT with game design specialization. This allowed me to dedicate a lot of time to game development while still having decent job prospects after I was done. I suppose you have to balance it against the amount of perseverance you have. If you are very motivated and dead set on working with CG you're probably going to make it whichever route you chose to go.

I still agree with Wail though, it's probably best to do it the other way around instead. If you take a technical CG course I would suppose they apply art history/principles in a relevant way anyway, which you could chose to study further on your own time. However I don't i think it works the other way around. If you study art history they're not going to help you apply that to CG...

although...maybe you shouldn't listen to me. I value the enjoyment of studying more than I do the eventual work possibilities. If I had unlimited money i think I'd just stay in school forever and study absolutely everything i find interesting.
