Warriors of Hyrule is a Half Life 2 modification running on the source engine and is based on the game “The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time”. The Idea is to convert the original singleplayer to a multiplayer game.

The mod consists of 2 types of gameplay: deathmatch and cooperative. Deathmatch gives you the thrill to battle against each other. The cooperative version on the other hand gives you the opportunity to play with others – battling the environment, for example dungeon puzzles, monsters and bosses.

Each map type lets the player unlock and collect items. The player stats are stored on an external SQL-database server.

In our game, player and camera movement were adapted from the original as much as possible. The player can choose different attributes he/she wishes the character to have: sex, hair and eye color.

Unlike the original game, selecting, using and equipping items are easily done without stopping the game flow. By simply pressing a button, your inventory interface will pop up and you can instantly select your items to use or equip them.

We use a subversion repository to keep version control and share work and information with the others.

The main communication methods to keep in touch with the project leader are Steam, ICQ and MSN.

Our intent is to make the project public on the website [email protected]

This project is a mod, ment for people that are wanting to advance there skills and create something they like. We have no money, dont plan on selling it and are not breaking any copyright laws from nintendo. So I dont see why we need a Chief Attorney.

And this project is allready full in development, I am the lead programmer and project manager, then theres a 3D Artist that does modeling, a Music composer, Concept artist and a 3D animator working on this atm.

So if you like the original zelda series and are a good mapper then dont mind contacting me.

    Greetings,

I would like to present abit of my mod wich I have been working on for the past weeks, hopeing to find some interested people to work on it. Warriors of Hyrule is a HL2 Mod based on the Nintendo 64 game, "The Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time". As for the Mod its self, its genre is Fantasy, RPG, Deathmath, Coop. Adapting as much of the original as possible, I hope to bring the ultimate feeling of playing The Legend of Zelda. Tho this is converted to a multiplayer game, some changes and adjustments must be made to make the game fast, fun and suitable for a multiplayer game.

I am not going to discuss to much about the game features. The biggest highlight would be the Deathmatch and Coop features combined with RPG elements. There will be two differnt kind of maps. Deathmatch maps and Coop maps.

On the deathmatch map players can battle eachother, wich is obvious for a DM game.

On Coop maps, players are in the same team. They will stride with there friends through the original dungeons, solving puzzles and fighting monsters.

By participating in either map types. Players will unlock new items, upgrades and other things that you normaly would in the original game. Using a SQL database, player items, money and the sort are stored. Meaning no matter on what server you are on, you will allways have access to thos items you have unlocked before.

What you just read is a short overview about the current gameplay plans. There is more but im not going to go into much detail now.

Im a programmer and so far ive done things like the camera and playermovment. I have also made simple proto animations useing a self rigged model of the original link character for testing my code.

We have a Music composer, 3D Animator, 3D Artist and a Concept Artist atm.

Now if you are interested. Your job is to create a higher quality version of the original models, animations, sounds and music. Meaning that everything must be self made but as close to the original as possible. I can provide images and samples of the original game content. Or you can just get what ever information you need by looking at the game through a n64 emulator.

As for now. The most important things I need for the team is a mapper, the current team is formed out of a Programmer, Music Composer, 3D Artist that does charater models, 3D Animator and a Concept Artist. I am willing to look at any quality modellers/animators that are willing to help out, even tho I already have one this doesnt mean a second wouldnt be more than welcome.

If you would like to see the camera and playermovment work ive done. You can download this short fraps clip i recorded.
