Just tried the demo and some of it was good and some of it was bad. Only visual setting that made any noticeable difference was turning on Physx, which made some bits of debris hit the floor and stop instead of falling right through it, and it dropped the fps by almost 30 average in the benchmark. In general the textures looked kinda bad. Flat, kinda washed out. Biggest issue though was the driving. Maybe I just picked the wrong car in the magic garage but the Thunderbolt handled like a car in GTA that's had its tires popped, especially while going slow- it weirdly gained more control the faster I drove. Not a mechanic I can say I've ever seen before in a game.Shootout in the distillery was ok, nothing out of the ordinary. Cutscene was funny though.

    Playboy centerfold collectables.

Was it like driving a car without power steering? Sounds like how rack & pinion steering works in the real world.

So if it wasn't a blizzard game it would make more sense?

    No.

People treating Blizzard games as a spectator sport has always confused me.

I was able to swing getting Thursday and Friday off and wouldn't mind meeting a few Mapcorians there.

Looks like they have some pretty cool panels going on, particularly on Friday morning.

Do they have a service in England that's the equivalent of Verizon's FiOS or AT&T Uverse for a reasonable price? It's hard to beat $55/mo. for 25 MB down/15 MB up.

":1q579qd5]Never tested it, I've read some people saying that it works alright, others saying that it makes the game too dark. When I played warhead I played it on very high and it looked good. Budapest team tweaked the game visuals much better since the original vanilla Crysis (Based heavily on the community mods too) so I didn't really see the need for configs, but I'm sure there's a few around.

I definitely can't run Warhead above low, and I have the exact specs you built the config for (BFG 8800 GT OC, 4 gigs of RAM, dual core Athlon 64 CPU). Maybe someone else has done a similar config for Warhead? I'll have to look. Thanks for posting this, I'll have to pick up the original Crysis again to see if I can finally play it above low detail and still get a good frame rate. Damn 1900x1280 native resolutions on an older PC.

P.S. - I think Rick is just spoiled by Crysis 2 graphics. Those screenshots look great.

I guess that depends on how big of a Tim Burton fan you are. Some people still swear that Jack Nicholson was a better joker. I think those people are a bit batty themselves.

This is as good as 'reboots' or whatever of classic movies get these days, just be glad it was done by a bunch of people who seem like they care about these kinds of films.

So you're saying it's on the level of Batman Begins/The Dark Knight?

I want to die in a games-design related death. Not sure how that would work, but I want it to happen.

Like if you got trapped in this nightmarish reality where everything pans out like levels you've created? With a few tweaks, you might be onto a game idea there.

I've never really understood portable gaming unless you spend a lot of time riding buses/trains, or have to spend a lot of time in airport lobbies. I used to see some guys from ES who would walk around with a DS or PSP plastered to their face constantly. Seems a little too hardcore.

Kind of hard to believe no one had thought of doing megatextures before with how similar it is to light mapping (ok, not really, but same basic concept, just with textures and not a shading "texture").

looks kinda cool, though I'm worried this is "sponsored" by some kind of islam(istic?) ministry (though that might just be the usual term in iran) and we don't know anthing about the story (moral) yet... looks great in the video, so maybe just stop worrying for a second

My keen sense of intuition tells me it will be a literal or loose following of this story:
