That's what I thought it sounded like before release... Glad I never bought it :/ Just looks like a boring version of Borderlands, as harsh as that sounds.

I feel the same, haven't even managed to put 10h in. Yet it will sell more than every game we've worked on combined...oh well

I'm not sure! Hard to say, it doesn't look super good for Jack and definitely not for Abigail but it seems Alana was gonna survive? Quite curious about Gillian Anderson too and how they ended up together! Season 3 is gonna be intersting

A sci-fi / thriller movie shot in 5 days but the concept is super cool.

The concept was super nice and I was really looking forward to it but I think it fell a bit flat overall. The first ~45min were pretty cool though!

I've just finished watching season 2 30 min ago!

It's visually gorgeous and it has some of the most fucked up sound design in a while. It's sometimes a little out there but overall I really liked it, they've been pretty clever in the writing and both Hannibal and Will (even more so I'd say) are great characters.

Finished The Vanishing of Ethan Carter yesterday (couldn't find any thread on this game?).

    Goddamn does it look nice...!

The mood and the ambiance are spot on and the graphics in general are among the best I've seen for this setting.

Not 100% sold on the gameplay (mostly how it's linked to the story) but there are definitely some great and surprising moments that I'll remember for a long time.

I wonder if leaving everything behind and having that kind of money ends up being freeing creatively or if you end up never releasing anything because you actually don't *have* to...

Guess it depends on the Persson

Who are the other shareholders? Afaik Notch never took any outside investment because everything was funded out of cash flows. I thought I heard some employees have stock in the company, but the total amount doesn't add up to much leaving Notch as the only significant shareholder by a large margin (ie over 90 or 95%)...

....lest ye, Frie, have some other knowledge ye doth hast withholdeth?

Think he has a bit less than that: "Persson controls about 71% of Mojang, according to the annual reports of the Stockholm-based game maker and Persson’s holding company Notch Enterprises AB."

    Still...I think he'll be ok...

Hah, glad you guys like it! Read better feedbacks than I thought the game would get, that's cool

I personally prefer Fergus to Wyatt but I prefer Wyatt's timeline. Oh well!

Does anyone know if the GC version still had the door opening animation? That was one of the best parts of the original PS version, curious if that still works today...

    Yes they did!

Not sure if it's a mega spoiler but will mark as spoiler anyhow:

Most of the time it's the good old door anim, but every once in a while you get a zombie going through. Which fucks with your head since it's "supposed to be safe"! Also, Hunters occasionally break through the doors. Which renders them useless...and that's a big mindfuck too

Other notable differences are that you should burn the killed zombies if you don't want them to come back with a vengeance...

There are quite a lot of other differences between this one and the original and most of them just improve the whole game. Def worth playing if you like RE!

First reading the thread, I thought you meant that this was a port of a 2002 remake, and if those were 2002 graphics, I think the world would have literally exploded.

Well it's pretty close from being the same graphics! RE remake on Gamecube looks incredible, check some youtube playthroughs. Sure the resolution wasn't the best but visually, that game is still stunning. I'd still be interested in reading how they pulled it off at the time.

The remake fixed and improved a lot compared to the 1st RE, playing with your nerves, a few new mechanics, from small to big tweaks in the LD that almost makes it a different game at times. I've said it before but I think this was the best RE game!

I'm always reluctant when I see HD remakes coming in, usually almost at the same price as new games but I can't help being a little excited by this one!

Sure, it's not completely there yet but come on! It's so close you can almost smell it...

For all of use who grew up during the 80s-90s, that's like the holy grail

There are a few hurdles left like with every new tech at the beginning and like PogoP I also think the resolution is the biggest technical problem atm but you know that this is going to be fixed real soon. Gameplay is a bit more challenging but same thing, just give it a little time and we'll get there soon enough!

I really have a hard time not getting excited by the prospect of the whole thing...

I loooove the slow projectiles design (like the imp's fireballs). It's stupid to say but it's a really clever design as it forces you to keep strafing all the time and keeps you on your toes (especially when coupled with fast shooting enemies).

I'd love to see that kind of stuff used more in new shooters. Might forget some but I can't seem to remember a big FPS using that kind of design in the last few years...
