I saw this and thought, okay, it's not a Borderlands ripoff, but still...
The option to change it should be there for any PC game, but I don't think it is absolutely necessary (but again, developers should put it there).
I just got Borderlands a couple days ago, and yeah, it felt awkward, but after lowering the sensitivity and playing it for a while, it was easy enough to adjust. Not to say I wouldn't increase the FOV if the option was sitting in the menu calling my name.
That truck, the silo, the walls, sandbags, building in the 3d skybox are all missing snow on them... either it snowed and everything got snowed on or it should look like there was some activity to clear snow off of stuff.
Colored lighting in TF2 is a no-no (pink lighting
). Also, vertex editing to make something look destroyed is just ugly. Other than that, it looks really good, I like how you incorporated team colors into it (except the pink light).
Map also bears little to no resemblance to Meet the Sniper, which was set in Gold Rush anyway.
The doesn't play well and isn't detailed well and SWATY isn't going to change it no matter what we say, so whatever.
Valve always says they'll ship it with the game...
but that's Valve. Expect to see it in three months.
People need to stop looking at TF2 and saying "where are my free updates for L4D" and use that as an excuse for hating L4D2. That is taking something for granted that is still rare: how many games have gotten the amount of content TF2 has as free DLC? None? It's not right to assume that everyone at Valve will follow the TF2 team's release model, and beyond that, L4D2 isn't L4D and the amount of new content and features cannot be integrated into the original game.
For me, L4D2 was very well worth the purchase. It just is a different game than L4D was, and it's hard to even compare the two.
Last one (full scene) looks the best. And it all looks really well done.

L4D2 DLC.
I don't think anyone can comment on L4D2 until they play the full game. The demo compared to the full game stunk, but the experience of the full game, the quality of it, it's just amazing. Complain all you want about Valve making a sequel in less than ten years, but it was well worth paying for.
The lighting looks very bland, and having six mining lights on wall one right next to eachother isn't very good looking.
It would also be nice if we could save multiple characters into slots in the garage or something... I'd like to keep my current character but I also want to play around with the customization some more.
Here's a quick Chute Shoot video:
That's... amazing. Not sure what to say about it, blew me away.
