Originality isn't analogous to fun or satisfaction. Game companies regularly experiment with new ideas internally but a lot of them simply don't turn as fun. In any case, Bliz is clearly a company that cares a lot about the quality of the product, which translates to giving their devs the time and money to do the best they can. Plus from an artist point of view all of their current IP's offer substantial amount of freedom and incredibly rich worlds. It's not like you'll be stuck recreating suburbs or modelling Toyota's.

Crytek should team up with Lorne Lanning and make the next oddworld game with him, or port strangers wrath to current gen consoles.

Movie is decent. Loved the castle dancing and the society with the bloodhound gang music scenes. It has some great camera work and works as a satire.

The modern setting allows then so much freedom, shame they're sticking to Afghanistan. But understandable, trying out new IP's hurt EA pretty badly, apart from ME and DA:O.

Also the thermal is hard to use on snowmaps, as apparently cold ice is as white as a person. Needs to be fixed.

No, what I want is to either disallow you to pick up another c4 until you detonated the first one, or allow you to pick it up but when you press the c4 button you detonate your first one. Right now a typical situation might go like this, I setup the c4 near a point, I go somewhere else, walk over a body, and pickup another c4 automatically due to the perk, which makes my previously put c4 useless. As now when I press the c4 button, I will just trow down the new c4, and the old one will disappear.

Also just got a match with a 5 to 1 kd ratio, which is neat considering I rush like a fool everywhere. Which reminds me how much it sucks that not all challenges are unlocked since the start. I understand the one relating to things you have to unlock, but why isn't, for example, the one where you have to get a game winning kill screen of you dropping a care package on an enemy unlocked since the start. Something like that is so rare, it would suck if you did it before you unlocked that challenge trough leveling and never managed to do it ever again.

On account of the C4 sucking dick, a surprising amount of people are not familiar with it, today I constantly left it in the middle of the pole on domination and got 3 or 4 kills each time. It's like people ignore it. So if you wanna get your c4 challenges do them now.

And on that note the scavanger perk fucks with it, if you put c4 then scavage, the next time you press the c4 button instead of detonating the first c4, you will just trow more c4 and the first one will disappear. Really annoying. I hope they change that.

Weather or not something is a sequel is a matter of semantics. They could have just changed the maps and called it a sequel. But Valve does not get the respect it receives for chugging out sequels every year, they get because their games usually are very strong, last long, and nurture whole communities, and they also tend to take a long time to make.

As far as I can see l4d2 has less new content than most other AAA sequels. It took 1 year to make at a company that is taking 2+ years for a sequel to a small episodic game, and it shows. No one had the same reaction to TF2, to HL2, to Uncharted 2, to MW, to MW2. MW2 alone, has a whole new campaign full of content, has 16 separate co-op missions, one gun in mw2 has more addons then there are guns in l4d2, and far as I know they had as much people working on it as there are valve employee's, plus it had a proper predecessor. What you've done is list every single little detail, much like a mapper explaining all the reason for specific areas and how they influence game play, but with that level of scrutiny one could write a whole novel for something like HL2.

I always had a stealth build for when we were getting owned in cod4. Because then the opposite team usually has uav all the time, and it was fun as fuck. What I do not understand is why so few people have the AT4 as secondary. I feel like I'm the only one shooting at air in this game, when it's so much easier to take air down this time. Also I'm not happy with the amount of complexity and windows in this game, it really makes it a camper heaven.

    Quote from Lord Ned

Because... completely new content, new characters, new materials, models, maps, settings, gameplay, ai, director, techniques, effects, shaders, etc don't count as a sequel? What do you call a sequel then?

First off all I didn't say it wasn't a sequel, I said it was the least updated. And what I consider a good sequel, a sequel that adds enough to justify a full price tag would be TF2, HL2, MW, MW2, BF2, BF:BC. L4D2 amounts to barely more then new maps, and models, it's as many said more how the first should have been then something that go's beyond. It is in no way in the same league as the aforementioned games, they added a lot more to the previous games, and took more then a year to make. And teams like IW and dice have a lot of experience making games on tight schedules, when has valve ever made something in less then a year?
