Neat. I tried the other ones and they were all a bit too complicated for me. I like that there's only five elements and they're all very unique and interact in a bunch of different ways.

"No sir. Just body aches and feeling cruddy, that's all."

    "How are your children feeling?"

"Oh, they're feeling good. They're sleeping in today."

"Have the local government officials quarantined you?"

"No. They just asked us not to go out until we feel better."

I'm pretty sure I see the word "original" on that box, though it's so blurry I can't be sure.

I've... never actually thought about the technology development of the Terminator universe. I just sorta assumed that they were always time traveling about and sending robots to kill people. Prehistoric time traveling robots made of stone, even. Once you start time traveling the origins of things don't matter, they can be anywhere.

So this movie isn't about time traveling future robots, but rather contemporary robots that can also time travel?

I remember there were a lot of interesting discussions a few months ago about the feasibility of cheaper made games with lower sales expectations. Stuff like Sins of a Solar Empire, which sold a few hundred thou copies, but made the publisher an insane amount of money, because the game's budget was minuscule in comparison to most "AAA" Titles. If you spend AAA money on a game and it sells less than a million, you panic. If you spend B+ money on a game and it sells over 100k, you're happy, basically.

These cheaper made games also tend to have more freedom to explore and experiment, as they're less of a massive investment, too, which is personally more interesting than Yet Another Popular Series Installment, or Game about Big Guns and Killing Hundreds of Things.

I don't really take games seriously enough that I need a game to be perfect, though. I just need a game to be interesting.

What made Kane and Lynch terrible? From that Jeff Gerstmann infamous review video when the game came out, it seemed like mostly "blah blah blah I don't like the characters the cover system is literally shit in digital form", and that sounded like it was annoying but not horribly deal breaking, especially looking at it from someone who loved the hell out of Freedom Fighters. Some of the features mentioned, like Player Two seeing a different scenario than Player One due to hallucinations/craziness sounded really neat. Never got a chance to play it though. It just feels hard to believe that IO could go from making Blood Money to making "terrible".

The Metacritic for K&L is only a little bit lower than Force Unleashed actually, 67% for the PC version, 65/64% for consoles. Force Unleashed was 72 (averaged between platforms ignoring handhelds)

Words cannot describe my lack of sympathy for someone complaining about middle of the road reviews for a middle of the road game that sold millions.

Wait, yes they can. I have a complete lack of sympathy for someone complaining about middle of the road reviews for a middle of the road game that sold millions.

I would seriously, absolutely love a Deus Ex/Parasite Eve game. It'd obviously being a shady worldwide biotech corporation trying to artificially recreate neo-mitochondria and breed ANMCs. Aya Brea, FBI agent, tries to track down the source of monsters but is betrayed by the FBI when she gets too close, after which she's taken in by Silhouette and the NSF. She partners with Paul Denton. The final mission is a massive collective biological monstrosity that is what causes California to fall off into the ocean.

Both games are modern setting RPGs using modern weapon and settings with a sci-fi medical conspiracy backbone to their plots. It's a match made in Heaven!

Actually a Hitman game where the final mission is assassinating God to prevent his industrial stereotypical evil empire from destroying the world via not driving hybrids would be quite a trip. Of course, it would be a prequel, back to when 47 was a young man with long flowing blond hair.

    deus ex fantasy?

    *shudder*

Final Fantasy 7 spinoff staring Agent 47 as a member of the Turks.

Deus Ex is better fit for a Parasite Eve matchup.

Edit: Star Ocean meets Thief. The Calnus crew arrives in The City after getting sucked into a black hole and tries to track down the source of the glyphs, aided by a mysterous thief, while avoiding the wrath of the Hammerites or the Trickster!

Scary that that can just happen like that, seemingly out of nowhere. Like SADS or something.
