Btw, did no one notice the obvious IP crossover at the end of SP?

That screenshot is so super ugly, I can barely tell what's going on in it, and I dunno what game it is.

I've spent more time playing 16-bit games on my PSP than I have playing Portal 2 this week. But then, that's just because those old games are really freakin good.

This game is damn near perfection and is also -the- example for how a sequel should be.

    Agreein with this

Just finished solo player. Glorious, hilarious, beautifull, well made but easy and short (it's not that short but imagine if press write you will have for 8-10 h of portal and you just have half of it)

I took six hours JUST for coop, with SP being longer (both in feeling and how long it took me, started around 4PM the day after playing through coop and finished after midnight). Already partially replayed SP for dev commentary (they've spread out the comment nodes through the whole game, instead of piling them on in one area like their last couple games), and haven't even started looking for the neato hidden stuff that might be valuable, like "Hidden Transmission" or "Lost Experiment".

Not quite the same value I got out of actually multiplayer-focused Valve games like L4D2, but as far as story driven games goes, I can't think of any non-RPG released in the last few years that goes longer than Portal 2's combined campaigns.

There are better sources for both of those things than mapcore threads, puddy

probably the only game i really care about for a few months and I've already managed to get two major plot twists spoiled for me because of idiots and internet. no place is safe from spoilers, not even mapcore. I should have just played the entire thing when it was released.

    Yes, you should've.

Personally, I value the ability to freely talk about the game 90% of us just played together than to prohibit discussion due to people who a) Haven't played, but b) somehow can't avoid the thread about the game they haven't played. Sure, unwanted spoilers thrust upon you suck, but nobody's pulling a 4chan and coming up to your computer with a bull horn yelling out snape kills dumbledore to you.

Really, though, plot 'spoilers' don't really mean much for a game that tends to use its plot twists purely as punchlines or parodies (of itself, or other games). I linked a screenshot I took of a funny wall thing to a friend of mine, without realizing he hadn't reached that level yet (we were playing SP in unison after going through coop together) and he was pissed. But then like halfway through the game I guessed the final plot twist to him (correctly, as it turned out) and we both just laughed about it.

Portal 2's got a specific DLC store page already, so I doubt it. I'd be totally down for paying, say, $5, give or take, for an extra block of Coop levels or something, though. I doubt they'd be too expensive, Valve's a "low cost high volume" kind of company in most cases.

Beat the single player campaign. Steam says my total play time, with one run each of coop and single player, is 13.2 hours. And people were complaining that the game was short? The unrealistic, overly critical demands some people seem determined to put on this game, as far as I can tell as retribution to not getting free games they already owned or not getting the game earlier or something, is ridiculous. Apparently people are complaining about the "Don't turn off your console" message that's in the game, neglecting to mention that that only appears if you use the manual menu save option, which is there pretty much specifically for the benefit of people on a gamepad without a quicksave button handy, and that it was barely even visible enough for me to register the words were there when I looked at it.

IMO, this is absolutely Valve's best work yet. I fucking loved it. Might do a dev commentary run tonight, I missed some achievements so I'm definitely going to do another run (not sure which mode) tomorrow.

Anyone else notice the Super 8 level in the extras. Pretty cool.

This was the first thing I played while waiting for my friend to decrypt. Absolutely stunning how good Source looks in that teaser/demo thing.

It was all a ploy to get you to buy indie games.

I already owned half the pack! The only thing new I bought during the event was Rush, after people told me it was like Chu Chu Rocket.

To pass the time. Valve really should just unlock the game already. All our work to unlock the game early has resulted in everyone ELSE getting it early, as retail outlets took the arg seriously and put the game out early. Everyone else but people on Steam has it, and we're looking at, at best, earning a midnight launch on the day it was supposed to come out anyway.

Man, that was a lot of guns in that first trailer. Even showed guns they didn't use, like that one with a ring around the scope like an antenna or something.

I'm not going to be playing portal 2 today because it's not going to be unlocked early today, but instead sometime tomorrow at the earliest.

I bought RUSH and got my 19th potato. Had to look up the solutions online for the last real challenge of the "Actual Challenge" maps that GlaDOS guides you through, because it's just evil in design. RUSH's camera isn't free floating, rather it rotates around the center of the level, no panning, no zooming. The level was a massive nest of interlocked chainlinks. It took me forever just to rebuild the known solution because of how hard it was to 'find' my way around it.

I'm still not going to be playing Portal 2 tomorrow...

Got 18 potatoes, all of those currently available to me without buying more Potato Pack games, except for "The Device Has Been Modified" in Audiosurf. Getting a full half set feels pretty good.

Ugh, man, Defense Grid is hard. I managed to get 5/6 potatoes from it but I can't get the one that requires you to actually play the game, to get Gold on that CHAS campaign.
