It is.
Also I meant Act 1, not Act 2, so the damage is pretty decent. I also have a two damage boosting charms in my inventory- one 1-4 lighting and one 1-2 cold.
I'm playing Necro anyway, so damage I do directly with attacks is pretty secondary. ![]()

This is pretty bitchin for just completed the second quest of Act 1.
I've got some awesome loot so far. My +36% magic item find rate is owning hard.
Edit: Act 1, I meant. Act 1.
some of those outside shots could be confused as being of a map for CS 1.6, due to the level of detail and lighting. Needs more lighting and texturing contrast. The inside shots look better. I like what you're doing with the dam.
Quote from sk3tchJetsetlemming...Holy tiling textures, batman!
You HAVE to random that up a bit.
Do what now?
I'm going to add a buit more geometrical detail and separation later to the staircase, mostly in the forms of arches/ridges along the walls. I'm really happy with how it visually looks now, though. It fits the theme I was going for with it. ![]()
Nightwolf, dig the screenshot, especially the ceiling!
USEast. How do you accumulate a stash and a half of them? ![]()
I started a new D2 game today as a necro. After finishing the first quest and exploring the next two fields I've got a set of superior leather armor slotted with two chipped topazes for +18% magic item find rate, and a charm that gives +1-4 lightning damage per hit and +4 defense, a +1 max damage ring, a +16% hit rate ring, a +5 Stamina amulet, and +5 stamina boots.
Got a feeling this is gonna be a good run.
Working on a Deus Ex map.

Gonna make it into a minimod, I already added dialog for the NSF guys at the intro, computers, security, and a datacube. Basic concept is invading a UNACTO Base underneath a New York powerplant where a rumored "hub" is that is supposedly used to censor communications. The NSF want you to blow it up so you can send the Paul's warning to the other terrorist groups.
Speak for yourself, the rest of us love Diablo for teh lootz
Quote from Pericolos0Haha this petition is really pathetic. Honestly, diablo 2 had very bland art, I don't know why you would want it to look more like that. It's whiny stuff like this that makes most games look so generic in their color palette, art directors are afraid to make choices like blizzard does now. Your all gonna buy it anyway, and with some nicer colors, some people new to the franchise will be interested aswel =)
Agreed. I rather like this new art design- it's clear, colorful, and the backdrops in the outdoor area are just beautiful. I love the arty (not cartoony you goddamn idiots) look. I really think it's stupid that the people bitching are cherrypicking calmer shots to contrast D3 to D2, too- It would be far more accurate to take a still of a huge gang of enemies getting slaughtered.
Also I don't know why anyone would care if Blizzard announced a console port- they've had them in the past, and they're always made by a third party dev. It wouldn't effect Diablo 3's PC development one way or another. I doubt there will be one- past blizzard game ports have been poorly recieved. Anyone remember Starcraft 64?
Or Diablo 1 on the playstation?
Do you mean Clear Sky (as in, the system requirements for the new game have been lowered), or Shadow of Chernobyl? I've got a Radeon 9250 and a copy of Shadow of Chernobyl, and the main menu's all black when I loaded it. I tried it again recently for the 1.005 patch, it didn't help. I can just tap enter to get through the main menu, but once the game starts and I walk outside the screen gets covered in random scattering of blue/brown snow, like a TV without a signal sorta. I bought it because on some sites before it was released the minimum requirement for video card was listed as Radeon 9200, the game's installer says the same, but now post-release everything says Geforce FX/Radeon 9500.
I'm gonna be getting a new computer soon (Been saving up for the last two months to get something really special), and Stalker (along with Bioshock and seeing all the fancy effects Valve added to the Orange Box games that I can't see
) is really the whole reason I'm doing so.
Need to start releasing some of this stuff/getting previews in english language sites. The release is only two months away after all.
Why do you hate english speaking gamers, GSC ![]()
Edit: The wikipedia entry claims that Clear Sky will run on DX8 machines, "Just like the prequel". Except Shadow of Chernobyl doesn't run on DX8 machines, it freaks out if you try and doesn't even draw the main menu. This is why it's important to get info out there! ![]()
(my copy of Shadow of Chernobyl has been waiting to be played, unused, for so long
)
First post updated with download link and screenshots. ![]()
That's fucking awesome, Mr. Happy.
I tried that:
http://www.interlopers.net/forum/viewto ... =2&t=24862
I tried deleting that section in the .vmf and loading it again, and it complained about a different line. Deleting that one made Hammer say "unexpected end of file" and also refuse to open the map.
I'm working on just rebuilding what I made today now.

I just lost all the work I did today.
Hammer started throwing up an error "parsing plane definition". Looking it up shows only one link in German so I don't know what the fuck. While I was trying to track down the cause in Hammer it crashed... and when I tried to load the map again it said "Out of memory loading solid" then "line 24544 error 7 Error loading file" and then crashed. I tried the autosaves... somehow all five of the Autosaves were similarly corrupted at once.
I used vmex to decompile the saved .bsp and found it hasn't properly been writing all day without bothering to throw up an error- what's in the BSP is just what was added yesterday. Everything I've done today went up in a cloud of smoke. ![]()
Apparently Trigger_teleporters don't work in TF2 EITHER. Goddamnit.
An SDTV is good enough for TV and movies still. It is not good enough for a big number of console games that are designed for HDTVs such as Dead Rising, which is famous for being unreadable on SDTV. I know personally if I were to get a new console right now, I'd have to pay for an HDTV to go with it, I don't already have one. A friend of mine recently bought a big screen TV for a console. The HDTV is a required part of modern console gaming.
Also you can use a computer monitor to watch TV.
I plan on getting a TV tuner card for my next build- my actual TV is an ancient SD monster that's at least 20 years old. Thing's so heavy it nearly killed me last time I moved it.

The comments on the article are worse than Youtube comments. Jesus christ.
PC gaming hasn't been more expensive than console gaming ever since HDTVs started becoming big deals- even if most console games can't support HDTV res above 780p.
A nice gaming computer and a mid-range HDTV cost about the same (depending on how much you want to spend- you could skimp far more on the gaming PC's cost and still get something worthwhile than you could the HDTV if you build it yourself), and the nice big monitor to go with that gaming PC will be HUNDREDS cheaper than a current gen console. You can get a good quality 22" LCD for less than $200 now.

Exciting stuff. Still need help on the scripting though, guys.
