I occasionally get good teams set up and we roll well, but then it falls apart and I never see those new friends online again. Battlenet/Overwatch's inferface for grouping feels way worse than Steam's.

Yeah, Baseball was an Olympic sport as recently as 2008. They replaced it with golf in 2012, which is just kinda silly. Who the hell wants to watch Olympic golf? All the best golfers are pros, and pros can't take part in the Olympics, and it's a not a team sport. Baffling, imo. Good thing they're going back on that for 2020.

Not sure if it's just luck or w/e, but I've run into so many more people in comp who have a "main" hero and don't switch off lately. Tons and tons and tons of dedicated genjis (they seem to have replaced the constant Reapers for some reason?), but also people who play Bastion on both sides are really common.

Not this year, but has been for a couple decades and will be again in 2020 in Tokyo. Besides, the Overwatch event isn't officially Olympic.

I swear to god, the single biggest weakness of Symmetra is the effective nerf it applies to half your team as they stop playing to bitch that you're playing Symmetra.

If true, it is amazing how so much of all the terrible problems surrounding CSGO can be traced back to gambling in some way. It really is the root of corruption...

There are also "steam communities" that reward people for upvoting Greenlight games that pay the group for the boost. They raffle steam keys and shit to their users who mob vote games regardless of content to join the raffles.

has anyone made a Pokemon: Global Offensive joke yet

if not, there you go. Good joke.

Also if you like this game, but especially if you hate its stupid bad servers, install Ingress. It's the predecessor that Pokego is based on, except unlike most sequels instead of adding new features and polish they stripped out most of the game to replace with an IP. Ingress has more to do, way, way more player interaction, and a cool gameplay hook of connecting the various points across your neighborhood to form geometric fields of "mind control" over your town for points, and a decent story about an alien invasion behind its features.

Zen's about the same level of healer as Ana and a significantly better fighter. Ana's advantage is her specials, ESPECIALLY her bio-grenade thing that blocks enemy healing. It's a huge help for fighting against those annoyingly good roadhogs you sometimes run into. Of course, on a well organized team zen's orb of discord could theoretically have a similar effect, but that requires a level of organizing that OW just isn't about.

Also I don't see any problem with the game being generous, aimwise. Missing when you aim "close enough" is shitty, especially when most of the time the difference is down to lag, mouse quality, etc. Marxist game design for the win, imo. Fite me.

I think they should restore the gameplay element of the ult killing D.Va, not as a buff or debuff or w/e, but because losing it loses a strategic moment of the game of running from the big explosion you just triggered to kill a bunch of other people who couldn't get away. That little moment was fun and they killed it.

Also a bunch of people might not realize that's the case since throughout the game you mostly *can* hurt yourself with explosions, and so they would still hide from the self destruct and put them at an unintuitive disadvantage to other players.

Ana's nice I guess but with the survivability buff to Zenyatta I basically never want to play another hero again. :D So fun

They probably earned extra cash from people buying skins with the intent to gamble them away, but Valve can't police what you do with your skins after you've bought them.

Yes, but that's not the point: Because these sites stimulate the skin economy, they create profit for Valve, giving Valve a disincentive to police them, even as they prey on Valve's customers using Valve's technology for inventory access. It's not hard to imagine that playing a role in why Valve took so long to address them, waiting until there was a big deal made in the media.

I think that all these betting sites were fine tbh, I agree with the problem with underage gambling but its the parents responsibility to make sure little kiddies don't get addicted to throwing their virtual skins away :P

Yeah I'm kinda annoyed they tried to claim they didn't profit off these sites, as if the betting of skins didn't contribute to people putting money into Steam to buy more skins and keys to trade with.

My losing streak continues, despite every game being typically extremely close, down to overtime in sudden death mostly. That would suggest a very well matched team, actually, and I typically have all silvers and golds for my team, but the game keeps enormously punishing me after every single game, no matter how close, no matter if I'm the team MVP on a game that was lost only by a hair. One entire rank's value, every single game, even though the ranks are supposed to be averages so you'd think changes would slow way down around 50. Instead I'm down to 45, from 59. In the most recent game, playing as Zenyatta, I had gold in healing, eliminations, *and* damage (over 20k dealt over the course of four rounds and sudden death). Surely that suggests a disparity in skill between me and my team, but nope, full rank's value lost anyway. Blizz don't care.

I should probably quit, should've quit before it ever even got this bad, but I still play once in a while, trying to get that pre-streak spark back. I had so much fun in my placement matches and first dozen after that. ;( This whole summer season has been completely ruined. Ugh, Blizzard. Stop tricking me into liking a game and then hurting me like this, I'm not into bsdm, not in videogames anyway!

I believe when someone is killed they are not dead until they respawn. So if the enemy mercy revives a player, you can get two kills off of their one death.

Getting killed and revived resets counters for things that reset like "do x in one life," kill streaks, Zarya's energy, etc. Weird that it wouldn't count for the overall game stats when it still counts for all that stuff.

Lost three ranks in two matches. The more it happens the worse and worse games are getting, and the faster it's dropping. This is the platonic ideal of unfun at this point, fuck competitive this shit is broken.
