Let System Shock lie in its grave in peace. No need to revive it.

Visually it's absolutely magnificent Very awesome work you two, you make a fine team. I dig the layout too, it looks small and frantic with lots of secondary passageways. The middle part kind of reminds me of de_sunny with the bridge and the long alley.

I'm honestly very disappointed by this trailer, but I was expecting it. It shows no gameplay, Garrett has completely ridiculous ninja moves and part of this trailer was already leaked years ago. Also, no Stephen Russell to voice Garrett. I can live without him but this is another nail in the coffin. With every new tidbit of info EM gets crucified almost everywhere.

Funnily enough I thought that the three fights were a cakewalk. During the first fight I crouched behind a pillar where the crank gun can be spawned and waited here, killing anyone who came nearby and emptying my magazines in Lady Comstock. During the second fight I was going back and forth between the upstairs bit and the vending machine, aggro-ing Comstock so she tried to hit me, and then shot her dead. And during the final fight I camped near the vending machines and killed everyone who came close, and kept shooting her while she spawned more ghosts. Keep in mind that I was playing in 1999 mode, and I did not die once during these three fights.

I had some stuttering as well, and my rig can run Metro 2033 on ultra without any problem save for one or two areas.

So, I finished it in roughly 15 hours. Overall it was a very good game, but it's not, in my eyes, a masterpiece. I think Bioshock is still superior so far, especially in terms of storytelling. I feel the pacing is off with the narration, and it hurts the story as a whole even though it is very interesting. The ending was great though.

I'm not saying you have to die every two minutes (this is tedious), but you have so much money death is not a problem at all. Ken Levine said you'd have to do drastic choices in specialization and all, but I never did that because there's no need at all. You get weapons, money and health everywhere anyway.

I finished the game an hour ago with over 4,500 bucks. You'd never have as much nanites in the entirety of System Shock 2 on the hardest skill setting.

You made Emporia, Furyo? It's by FAR the best level in the game.

I'm almost done with it but it's still way too easy in 1999 mode. I appreciate the ride though, but I'd kill to have more challenge.

How did you unlock the 1999 mode? Does that up down left etc etc method work?

Yeah. In the main menu type Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right Esc Enter.

2 hours in, first impressions :

    - The 1999 mode is a joke. This is supposed to be hardcore, really? I haven't died once, I am already rich and there's ammo and health everywhere. I haven't bought anything because I don't need to.

    - It's beautiful, the artistic direction slays.

    - I like the fact that you can deactivate most of the handholding stuff, but the messages like "Fire in bursts to keep accuracy" or "Press * to stand up" really get of my nerves.

    - The shooting is better than Bioshock by a landslide but it's still not quite there yet.

    - The melee system is weird, why should I use another key instead of just selecting the weapon like every other FPS?

    - The executions are fun, actually the first few killings are very satisfying and create a good contrast with the peaceful tone.

Yeah, the high chaos ending is definitely more climactic than the low chaos one. Unfortunately even on high chaos the last mission is still a breeze. I really wanted some diabolically hard sneaking as a last mission that would make me pause and think, kinda like Soulforge in Thief 2. Even if that mission is weaker than the rest it's still an awesome game overall.

Yeah, same as HP. Call me weak but this will be the first DLC I'll ever buy.

I forgot how soothing some of the tracks in Fallout were.

    Diablo fuck yeah.

Also, Inquisitor's soundtrack is pretty good. The game mechanics are absolutely terrible but the art, story and music are great. Unfortunately the gameplay is so shitty that it's downright unplayable. Such a shame.

Locking the 1999 mode is seriously retarded though. I don't want to finish the game once to unlock it, I want to play in that mode right away and get my ass kicked. This completely defeats the purpose.
