The game is also much slower and doesn't have the charm of DK1. The graphics are still incredibly nice though and some of the mission designs are awesome.

Dungeon Keeper is still a game I play today and it never gets old, especially the fights.

Yeah I'm using TrenchBroom. Everything in the screenshots was done with it.
Funny that you think it's too dark, it's actually bright as fuck on my monitor.

Not unless the game doesn't work at all or if the steam page is full of lies. I've bought it from the Humble store, but I don't know if they do refunds either.

I finished it. It's good but it's in no way great, especially compared to The Dark Descent. The game is fucking short, it only took me 4 hours to beat it and I took my time. The removal of mental sanity and the unlimited lantern means you can just sprint through the whole game without any consequences, since the monsters do not break you down mentally. The game is WAY WAY too linear; there may be two or three optional paths in the entire game and I'm barely exaggerating. The monsters themselves are definitely not scary. They may scare you when they surprise you but that's all.
On the bright side the game is very sweet visually, it has a very thick atmosphere and the story is intriguing even if it's cliché'd and far-fetched at the same time. The environment was refreshing and some areas in the game are absolutely gorgeous. But yeah, it's definitely disappointing compared to TDD.

Don't pay attention to the misaligned textures, the BSP compiler did weird shit.

What dux and Wail said. I won't pick it up unless they completely reworked the game from the ground up gameplay-wise and worked on the story so it isn't a parody anymore.

Good thing War for the Overworld is in the works.

Good riddance.

Pledged. We need good stealth games.

Bought the first three Tomb Raiders, Dark Souls and Strike Suit Infinity. I've played the latter for three hours and it's pretty awesome if you like arcade space combat simulators with spaceships that can transform into rampaging mechas. I get a Zone of the Enders/Homeworld vibe with it, it's pretty cool. There's also the regular game, Strike Suit Zero, but apparently its campaign isn't very good which is why I picked-up Infinity which is an arcade-only version.

I'm with dux on this one. Pretty much everything I saw in these videos is total shit.

Garrett in the first and second games is one of the best (if not the best) character I've seen in a videogame. This one is trying too hard and fails miserably.
-
Dexter is great until the end of season 4. Past that point it goes extremely downhill.
-
For the moment it's more like an early alpha version than anything else. Still, it's very cool to see how close that game is to DK and I'm pretty sure it will become a true successor.

I played Eador: Genesis for, like, two hours and I already fell in love with this particular battle theme.

I know you guys aren't really interested in old engines but I've been working on this thing for two or three months now... sporadically. Crank your gamma up because shit's dark yo.

No point in this whatsoever.

I have the same point of view as Puddy. The story never clicked for me and I found the narration dull at best, and poorly paced overall. You have next to no information in the middle of the game, and when you arrive at Emporia (more or less) you are overwhelmed until the end. Besides I found this whole multiverse thing to be a poor excuse for all the inconsistencies in the plot. Not shitting on the game, I enjoyed it a ton, but I just didn't like the story nor the narration.
