Tbh. I see games as art sentura. I do... A ton of effort goes into them and if i get entertainment out of it then its good. And if the game isnt that "Fun" its not thaat big of a deal as long as im entertained. I enjoy fancy graphics and cutscenes why? Same reason i like movies.... To be entertained. I typically like this sort of all out war feeling wayyy more than i do Bioshock or Doom 3 where those games are narrow hallway horror/thriller games. Just so happens i dont like horror movies... They just dont entertain me. Dont get me wrong tho about setting and mood of those games because you can make a horror game that is entertaining in my opinion... Stalker would be that... They mixed just the right amount of spooky and mood to make me enjoy it. This killzone 2 for me looks like damn good entertainment for me :] Gets the right mood + solid action.... I see sweet animations and some solid mech gameplay that breaks up the action much like halflife 2's car sequence. What i see here is an all out war with some cool guns and spanky environments !

And if you are wondering.... Yes i liked most Halo 1 but i found Halo 2 and Halo 3 to be god aweful and was just not entertaining for me....

Please note i have not played Killzone 2 yet and probably wont due to the fact i do not own a ps3.

    Exactly my thoughts

Well, I haven't played it, but I liked Killzone 1 on the PS2 because it was just a pure shooter, there was no deeper meaning in the game, the story wasn't perfect either, but I just liked it because I could shoot people all the time, with weapons that differ from other games. It is a SHOOTER game so the more shooting, the more shooter it gets. If you don't like shooting stuff/people then this game will probably not be a must-buy for you...

(I'm so good at explaining stuff / end sarcasm )

Yeah it's in the skybox, I was hoping if I have enough fog, I might get away with the silhouette. Maybe I should move it back a bit and thicken the fog?

    That could work

That brush with the cars texture on it should be moved further away, it will look fake when you get so close to it in-game, like in your screenshot.

I like it, it's not the same as most of the other TF2 maps, you used the TF2 style, but only in a different way than other people would do, and it looks good

Wow, no need to be so pessimistic for me then I expected that it was going to be really hard to learn, thanks

And E-Freak, learning to model is next on my list, I gave it a few tries, but that didn't work out to great, a friend of mine is going to learn me soon, since all the tuts I've read didn't seem to help...

Hey, I'm gonna bother you guys with some noob questions, because I'm wanting to give the unreal editor a try, I have only been making maps and textures for source so far, so I don't have any idea how to make maps for unreal tournament 3. My main concern is that I don't quite know how to model, and I'm afraid that that is pretty important if you want to map for UT3? Would you advise to me to learn how to model first?

Anyway; I've been browsing through some tutorials, but if I understand it correctly, the editor that comes with my copy of UT3 is the UE4? Can anyone help me with some basic tutorials on level-design in ut3, I'm downloading a tutorial pack right now, but I'm afraid it is for the UE3, is UE4 completely different, or will I be able to learn a lot from the UE3 tutorial pack? (I downloaded it here: http://%7boption%7d)

    Thanks in forward...

I just checked the dates, and unfortunately I won't make it, I'm only 16, so I have to be at school, it would have been nice to go there though, it's so close, and I could meet other people with the same interests, it would be the first time for me to go to a gamedev "meeting/workshop".

Being a young level-designer can really suck sometimes

I loved Killzone 1, and love this one after seeing all the gameplay videos and trailers, it's a shame it's going to be PS3 only though, if I had the money I would buy a PS3 just to be able to play this excellent game (of course I would play other games on it too, but I would mainly but it for kz2 )

ps: I just watched the making-of, it impressed me even more!
