I think it would be nice to have the ability to auto create basic (random?) Island shapes like cryengine 2 does.
Looks really good, the first screen looks kinda sharp though, did you photoshop that or is it like that in-game? I'd tone it a bit down....
I always wanted to map a powerplant
this might be really helpfull, thanks.
Hehe awesome comic Dux ![]()
Please, please put your texture settings higher,
also lessen the blockyness and add some nice lighting.
Nice pics, I might upload a video of a quite similair looking industrial area that is about 5 mins away from my house ![]()

btw my background picture was made by me on a vacation in Crete.
Looks good, everything (all the curves etc) look really smooth. Your map is a bit empty though...
Quote from Seldoon182It doesn't matter this is really beautifull [HP]... I'm gona buy Crysis because of your Volcano map and all your advert on the Cryengine 2 !
Lol, same for me, when I see all these beautifull maps and trailers and what else that the Cryengine is capable of.
Now I just have to wait for my new PC...
Yeah, they can also create cool sunset effects; heres an example of a it (the map was just a test I made a while back)the effect is way too strong though...

You can use a point_spotlight or a light_spot or you can also create a special atmosphere to your map using an env_lightglow .
looks really good!, the lights of the car don't look too realistic(first, second and third pic) but thats just a small detail.
I'm getting Crysis, Gears of war and maybe some other games next week for my birthday so that will be what I'm gonna play this year ![]()
Quote from m8nkeyJust wondering if there is a way to utilise a different $surfaceprop for the alphamap of a texture. For example, I have a plaster wall with alphamap windows where I'd like to use both plaster and glass surface props for the respective areas.
I think simply adding:
will be enough(I checked VTFEdit and you have the option to assign two surfaces)
Over at Interlopers we have a thread about known SDK errors, maybe you should look there for all your problems...
Lol knowing that I played doom '93(came out the same year when I was born) when I was like 5 years(1998)(My dad learnt me how to play it)This was fun to read, thanks.
Altough there are a lot of FPS games I have never heard of..
Looks so damn good!
PS: is that church made out of brushes?! ![]()
