Looks like game made for lots of cool and fun over the top action! It's also awesome they're making tools so people can make levels. :elrey:

I'm curious with the Link: you have to start Big Picture on the computer or it will be automatically be displayed that way on there? And how you switch to desktop?
When I got it working the first time, it was streaming my desktop from the first monitor. Then I got hint/message that it's recommended to turn on the Big Picture Mode, which I then did (can be done on TV using Steam Controller or just going to PC and then turn it on there with one mouse click, which was easier for me). To get back to desktop, turn off the Big Screen Mode.

Received the Steam hardware today. They're all set up and I did some tests on different games.
Steam Link: It was very simple to get the thing working. I was running it as wireless on 1080p (I'll probably get an ethernet cable for it in few weeks) and it was very responsive. Image was clear and sharp on my 42" screen. This was the first time I actually used the Steam's Big Picture for real. Seems like a nice system, works well (occasionally it lagged a bit) and looks nice too. Good thing with Steam Link is, that you can stream your desktop from it, not just Steam or Steam's games, which I thought would've been the case. Don't know what else to tell after few hours or testing, it's quite a solid product actually.
Steam Controller: The firmware that was on by default, made the cursor twitch even when the controller was on the table and still. Connected it to PC and installed latest firmware, which made it work nicely so I could start the playing now. I felt like some 3 years old kid playing games for the first time. In HL1, I was playing the training. Aim was on the ground or ceiling, missed the platforms more often than it's legal, missed few jumps, almost blew myself with M203 and after all that, I thought that maybe I shouldn't even try using the train in the end, just walk on the tracks.. but I took the train and it worked nicely. So I was starting to get better with it! Controller is still very hard to use though, requires some learning for sure. The touchpad-thingies are something that need some proper fiddling to be adjusted nicely.

I just ordered Steam Link and Controller. I can't wait!

Any pro-tips or things I should know about?

I really love the look of the hell maps this time around, but I'm not feeling the particular clean look this scene is going for. This is all very hard to judge from a screenshot of course, but for this particular IP, I prefer the grittier look of what we saw before or from doom 3.
If you remember, in Doom there were clean rooms too occasionally using "silver" textures.

And why they need to bundle those speakers and controller with it? I just want the damn goggles, I have the rest already.

One might think the Oculus Rift could've been abit cheaper after a big company bought it with many monies. Then again, that company was Facebook.

Watched it yesterday. It was awesome, but death of Yoda brought me to tears.

Oh fuck, a revolver!

Also, I still haven't bought this game. Need to fix this problem ASAP!

Why do people keep cheating? You have absolutely nothing to gain with that... you get a better rank but you won't enjoy the game more since you're cheating... they just lose money buying the game every time. Guess valve has an interest in all that, but the cheaters don't so why bother?
I personally cheat on gta V alone when I just want to have some fun doing something only cheats allow me to do that. You can cheat on cs go on a server with all your friends if you want to do that with them too, because they are in the same state of mind that you are so it can be fun, but in matchmaking etc it's basically useless
Some people consider these as fun, which is why they cheat:
* You get to piss off people
* You can be overpowered
* You can do stuff not usually possible in normal play
* You can be the best without too much effort
...and probably plenty of other stuff not mentioned. It's just how some people want to live and do stuff in their life.
Also, the game's going on sale quite often for ~4 EUR, so it's not really that expensive to buy few extra copies. You can even make some of the money back from lucky drops after matches.

I don't even understand the point of loadouts. All I do is pick Assault and spam rockets. I'm hoping the Demon Rune is it's own separate game mode too, did they say it was? As currently it's a bit silly in DM/Team DM.
I know this is Alpha and it's great to be in it, but right now this is going to need a lot of work as currently it is just: Hold forward, move very slowly and heavily while occasionally pressing strafe or jump while spamming rockets with a gimmick Revenant flying about now and again.
But slow is more realistic man! Also, you can make maps use less art/work if they're smaller (no need to make large maps for slow-paced game).

edit: Inserting image doesn't work for some reason, so have a link instead.
Insert it with the file-ending, then it'll work (add .jpg at the end and it'll lead to the actual image, not just the page with the image).

People still play this game? :???:

Still about a year until the full release of Fallout 4 it seems, I can't wait!

At least in Finland, usually in those bunkers there's ways to access waste-management facilities, water reserves, subway and city heating stuff.

It reminds me quite a bit of cs_backalley theme wise and gameplay wise. What I mean, is that to me it's fine having same theme as some other map, but there should be a new gameplay things/tactics for players so it would not be "pretty much the same, but in different layout".

In a nutshell: Bloodhound came to an end, but more importantly, the Zeus was nerfed!
Seems like pretty damn stupid nerf for Zeus. It's basically useless now, but if you happen to have one (accidentally picked up, for example), you're gonna waste some precious seconds when switching to knife, only realize it chooses the Zeus first.
Then again, Valve does quite often these updates where something that's equal to Ion-Cannon, next it's like broken nerfgun that only makes sound anymore.

Got rid of the "Junior" in my title @ Next Games, so it'll be just "Level Designer" from now on.

Could that be fixed in the list here?
