works just fine for me. Dunno if its the right way to go, but have you tried to verify the integrity of csgo and the sdk tool?

    Nope, didn't work.

Does anyone else have trouble launching CSGO's SDK? I tried also launching just the Hammer, but it says I'm missing tier0.dll and problem's not getting fixed by verifying game content.

No, I didn't even want to work on my CSGO map.. :/

You know what's annoying? That you Operation-guys don't know how to info_player_deathmatch. I'm getting quite often either stuck nicely in slopes/stairs or facing a direction where I shouldn't. No flow there guys..

I'm surprised how many people act all shocked about the on rail shooter mechanics, out dated engine and lack of story of yet another COD. That to me is the shocker. Not directed at anyone here but every year it's the same fucking thing. Everybody hating on COD with exactly the same arguments as before and in the mean time it sells like crazy. It was the same with the last Transformers, everybody said it would suck and it did but it was still the best selling movie in theater this year. I just don't get it. Either online, in real life or with friends, we all share the same sentiment but apparently we are a small majority. Or is it humankind's curiosity to see if things could be able to suck less?

I couldn't agree more.. and laugh to that whining "ooh, this is so stupid and just recycling things" and buying next one in series (maybe even pre-order it to be first one to whine).

Build on the latest version of Source of course and totally separate from what we are prepping for Unreal.

What about Blue Shift on UE4!?

BS: Source sounds good though, but would require lots of stuff Black Mesa team has already (like scientists and their voices).

I would rather see them fix / buff hostage rescue than add vip. Just my opinion.

What's there to fix? I think the current hostage-mode is pretty nice and could even be competitive as you're no more leaning on AI to do the pathfinding to the rescuezone.

I think it's good something like this came out. I see this as a good example (even if it never gets released) that really there's no audience for this kind of stuff. Still, I'd try this out just to then have more weight to my words saying how the game's too shallow and really isn't giving anything.

What I think is sad too is that this is a pretty good looking game they've made engine wise, and mechanics wise, for being a top down shooter, but being so polished, just a shame the subject is about brutally murdering everyone in glory.

They just switch civilians to zombies and everyone's happy.

With this they just get attention and exposure.

The link in the first page got me in some japanese site not related to gaming at all.

    Finishing projects? What's that...

I think one good thing (mentioned here before already) is to plan your project. Not some 100% plan, but something to roughly have an overall idea what you want to have in the end. Then make it. Creative projects always "live" and change along the way, so try not to drift too far away yet from the initial plan you had. Once you have it done like planned (graybox state in levels), start evolving from there and changing things how you now want them to be. This is what I've found to work, mostly. It's because at least you have the base done for the level.

There's other ways too, my way could not work for you, or maybe even I could be better off with some other way of doing things.

Would be awesome to cook something with Mapcorians! Then again, I'm not entirely sure where to find time for myself to do that because I'm already working on a project (where there actually have been some from Mapcore before).

Downloaded the game and played the first level. Some feedback/nitpicking (not sure how often you read stuff here, but here goes):

*I wanted to see some impact fx (like, when my bullet hits enemy ship). Just for some feedback and smoothing out the fact how the projectile just disappears.

*The "Exit Game" button seems bit weird after done with the mission. Maybe it could be just "Back to Base" / "We're Done!" or something.

*Music is cool, but it feels like it's not entirely made for the game. I don't know, it doesn't have that connection.

*Sounds feel bit flat. I guess I kind of expected to hear some nice retro sci-fi "pew pew" sounds for weapons.

*The game feels so smooth! Framerate is awesome.

*Controls seem to be well done, simple stuff. Sometimes it feels bit difficult to notice suckerpunch coming fast from under my right hand.

*I like how level isn't only just going forward, but going for this "spin" around some target for a while before moving on.

*Visuals are overall really cool. I like the art a lot.

Those are my first impressions. I played it on iPad Mini Retina, will be giving it a try on iPad Mini and iPhone 5s at some point. Overall the game seems to be fun and I'm buying it for sure!

    Hi guys.

So I'm working on skins. But I have a hard time understanding what the alpha layer does/works.

Lets say I want to edit the wooden part of this skin? would I be able too?

And can I change how the skin wares down?

    I'm using gimp.

    Cheers.

Whats a rats map? Not sure if I am or not! LOL

A map where it looks like you're size of a rat. Like, de_rats and de_dolls for Counter-Strike.
