actually, it's not strictly Q3. for COD4 they have written their own. however, it's likely that they followed in the same path as Q3.

it was ok, but I had more enjoyment watching the 2001 trailer again than watching the 2007 one.

... they should have just made a post convincing us to watch the 2001 one again.

    Dumbest name ever.

It appears preserving both brands (and lets face it, the "Blizzard" brand has become much bigger than "Viveridi" ... or however it was spelt) has come above having a decent name.

Stand in the middle of the Millenium footbridge and turn around in a 360 degree circle. Go on the London eye. Don't visit the London Dungeons. Go shopping on portabello road, or in Camden, not in Covent Garden. Go to the opera in Regent's park, and to speaker's corner in Hyde park on a sunday afternoon. Trafalger Square in the evening, Leicester square at mid-day. Karl Marx and Charles Dickens are buried in Highgate cemetary. Ealing is queen of the suburbs.

  • (Media Studies) Does television affect children's behavior?

I went around the net and collected some links for you ...

    http://www.childalert.co.uk/absolutenm/ ... 8&zoneid=1

    http://www.enquirer.com/editions/1999/1 ... s_big.html

    http://www.spiked-online.com/index.php? ... icle/1287/

IMHO - as long as kids are "balanced" - e.g. good diet, has interaction with other children on a regular basis, having healthy amounts of exercise - kids who are sometimes exposed unsuitable media on TV is less likely to "stick" and influence their development.

There is also a huge differance between 1 hour a day watching TV and 6 hours a day.

"Pretty much all the DirectX 10 stuff works in DirectX 9 under XP. Crysis was the only thing that seemed like it might justify Vista and DX10, but its exclusivity turns out to be just another big ball of sellotape and lies. Just renaming the Very High configuration to High means it’s no longer locked off in the Options when playing under DirectX 9, and lo, it works fine and looks amazing and, by most accounts, runs better than it does under DirectX 10. The tweak is easy to do, but it’s even easier to just download the modded config files and dump them in your Crysis/Game/Config folder."

Oh I also read somewhere a while ago they were not gonna make the multicore support availeble to mods.

Well, if *all* the multicore stuff is in the engine support - I guess they could roll-out a different engine on Source SDK Base - but then what would the mods do that use the app ID's from CS:S and DoD? hrmm.

If there is an exposed API for multi-core tech in the SDK, e.g. some kind of manager thing, then they would have to start branching code here there and everywhere - and the whole SDK code rollout becomes even more cumbersome than it already is >_<.

This whole thing starts to make think scripting in engines is a good idea X( (easier for legacy support etc etc).

I think facebook is way too cluttered and has way too many bells and whistles.

yea, Facebook is turning into MySpace with all these applications - peoples pages take forever to load and is just a visual mess with all the glitter GIF flowers, jedi vs sith, pirates, poorly written image apps etc etc.

This makes me sad because I used to love Facebook due to how visually clean it was .

    Unreal Engine 4

Mark Rein, the vice-president of Epic Games, revealed on August 18, 2005 that Unreal Engine 4 had been in development over the past two years.[14] The engine targets PCs, then the next generation of consoles after the seventh generation. The only person to work on the Unreal Engine 4 core system design so far is Tim Sweeney, technical director and founder of Epic games.[15] However, at the 2006 GDC, Sweeney stated that development will not begin in earnest on the next version until some time in 2008.

... been in development since 2003 heh.
