  • World Builder for Next Gen Horror title - Climax UK

    Climax is one of the leading creative lights of independent games development and is currently working with publishing partners that include amongst others: EIDOS, Konami and THQ on stunning projects such and Silent Hill as well as our groundbreaking original next-gen game for the PS3 and the Xbox 360. Climax is an exciting and fun place to work and our Solent studio has some exceptional opportunities for an experienced world builder on a forthcoming next gen survival horror game.

    Our ideal candidate:

    • At least two years games industry experience as an Environment Prop Artist.

    • The candidate will have ideally have worked on at least one published game.

    • To produce excellent environment models.

    • To produce ultra realistic texture sets, and the ability to recreate various different materials together with the ability to set excellent lighting within a level.

    • Quality needs to be this persons specialty this role will be setting the pace for all other environment artists and juniors.

    • Extensive Maya and Photoshop experience.

    • Very strong freehand art skills.

Climax is an exciting and fun place to work and our Solent studio has some exceptional opportunities for an experienced SFX Artist to work as part of our art team on a forthcoming next-gen, third-person, action adventure game.

    Our ideal candidate will:

    • Join an exciting dedicated SFX team to design, conceptualize and animate real time effects for characters and environments on current and next generation platforms.

    • Have 2 years plus experience in the games industry and have the ability to demonstrate outstanding visual effects.

    • Be able to accurately render and animate realistic and fantasy elements in line with the overall game concept and physical principles

    • Be responsible for all aspects of 3D and 2D effects work including, designing and conceptualising the effects, animating geometry and camera work

    • Accurately render and animate realistic and fantasy elements in line with the overall game concept and physical principles.

    • Be able to demonstrate a high level of creativity and understanding of modelling, texturing, lighting and particles.

    • Have extensive Maya and Photoshop skills.

    • Real time FX experience is essential.

    • Experience in After Effects beneficial

Climax truly is an exciting and fun place to work and has an exceptional opportunity for an experienced 3D Animator on a forthcoming next-gen, third-person, action-adventure game.

    Our ideal candidate will be:

    • An exceptionally good character animator.

    • A motivated individual with attention to details and respects deadlines & budgets. Who is task driven with excellent time management skills and with the ability to prioritise their work as well as the team members beneath them.

    • Able to supply well-presented examples or a pertinent show reel that demonstrate your knowledge and execution of timing, weight, expression, posing, etc.

    • Able to showcase a wealth of different animation skills from realistic through to monster and quadrupeds.

    • Experienced enough to have worked on one or more published titles at an experienced/ senior level of responsibility as a character animator.

    • Professionally conversant in Maya.

    • Professional and effective at communicating directives,

    • Experienced at troubleshooting technical problems and creating solutions with regards to 3D animation in a game engine, from constraints to exporting, whatever the problem may be.
