Quote from PuddyPlayed 2 hours of MP. It feels muuuuuuuuuuuch better than any CoD since... MW2? Not sure, but a long time anyway. I've only tried the later ones during free weekends and I have never been impressed with what I've seen.
The gameplay is INCREDIBLY fast, even faster than it already was. From what I've played, it's just a pure adrenaline kick that unfortunately feels like it might not have lasting depth and appeal. We'll see though!
What I didn't like with the CoD MP since MW2 is that the main game modes are DM and TDM, or something similar where players spawn more or less randomly on the map, in the end leading to a map with no real flow, nearly impossible to predict where the ennemis will be and where they will go, people spawning in your back, etc.
Is is still the case, or are there more linear kind of maps/game modes ? (Like Rush in BF, Territory/Countdown in Red Orchestra 2, any game mode in DoD)

It's like a fucking fairytale or something.
Personally, what I am really waiting for is the Megascans beta, this one sounds really nice ! I am also curious about the prices and the terms of use of those textures.
I think it is cool !
The idea to in a way paint on all the channels of a pbr texture at the same time is very sexy ! ![]()
I know, I know that it is free, so I have no reason to complain. But when I make a tool for other people I want it to be successful. So I assume it is probably also your case, so those comments might interest you:
Maybe it could go even further in the automated parts and interface features.
Like material preview when you import one, or some way to select the mask automatically when importing a material (by a colormap or using the current selection, or I don't know).
When I read the documentation, it seems that there are still manual steps that could be automated or avoided.
Overall, really cool but not 100% user friendly yet.
Also some downside with the videos, you are just going really fast about the important/key parts and manipulations (you present the plugin interface in one sentence and we see it for like 2 seconds). All the more or less important manipulations are just overviewed in a few seconds, it makes it hard to even make the link between what you are saying and what we are seeing in the video. When we get what you explained it is already gone in the video.
Quote from KoKo5oVaRThat's really not how i would have do it, especially the artistic direction which is super nice but... not suited let's say. But i'm not in the dev team shoes so... However it's a good effort to see something like this i think.
That remembers me the time i was visiting some friends in lorraine...
I don't know if it is this specific location, but there is a level in the game talking about this strategy to blow up ennemy trenches.
About the game itself I really liked it.
I think the art direction is ok, it might look like it does not suit the theme, but I don't agree. The game is also meant to teach people about history (You have real life photographs and explanation about each locations in the game, and some short story about each collectible in the game). While the game looks a bit childish for us, I think it is perfect to tell the story to the younger audience. The characters look a bit fun, but the dark story behind is still serious.
It remembers me a bit of how my father decided to make me read the small comic books 'Maus' to learn about WWII. While Maus is still more serious/hard than Valiant Hearts, I really like how it makes the information more accessible and also better to provoke empathy for the characters. (Which is a lot less easy to get through a history book for example)
If you haven't read Maus, it is not too late, great book, even for adults.
Edit: Also the soundtrack is great. For those interested: 1 - 2 - 3 - 4
Not specially. if the bug is fixed on a website, it is better to change your password so if a hacker got your data he cannot access your account..
If you are using lastpass, you can see which of your passwords are safe to change:
[Blocked Image: http://korben.info/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/lastpass.jpg]
Click on the lastpass icon > Tools > Security check.
Because not every website has fixed the vulnerability yet... Which is really ridiculous.
I am wondering if there would have been a way to push most website to update without openly explaining the vulnerability everywhere, by now most good hackers probably know how to exploit it, and all the website still vulnerable are listed online. Sounds like open market...
Do someone here really understand the openSSL vulnerability ? I would like to concretely understand what hackers could get.
Do they havve access to stored data on servers ? Allowing them to download huge list of users logins/password ?
Or is it more of a case by case vulnerability, where the hacker would need to look for my login information to get it ?
Quote from blackdogAnd it's funny because at the beginning i saw just a few bits on tv and dissed it as "too cheap and old"(...)
Same.
And I don't know, I didn't really like Kiefer Sutherland at first. On the first look, he looks more like a family father than a badass mofo. That is the main reason of why it was really hard for me to start watching 24.
But the character of Jack Bauer is just awesome.
After watching the trailer, it is starting to get old: After saving the world 8 times the american officials should start to guess that he is there to save the world one more time and not kill the president....
Most of the time they write something like: ''Salary: Depending on profile and experience''.. Or they just leave it blank.

Photoshop - Create your brush toolbar
[Blocked Image: http://uppix.net/wnhvCS.jpg]
A bit like in Zbrush.
You can create a big brush toolbar visible at all time. It is not really easy to do, but you can follow instructions here:

Just found this.. This is sick... Shooting on someone trying to remove injured with bright orange stretcher.
I hope that once all this gets quiet, people will be prosecuted for their crimes(on both sides).

More on the subject:
Why a search engine -like interface ?
People have to subscribe, so I guess there are not many things in there.
I have no idea what is actually on the website.
So now, I have to guess searchwords that could be related to indie projects subscribed to your website ? Or.. ? Did I miss something ?
Search engines are made to find precise information among a huge amount of data.
A list or some browsing through categories + news/update feed about the projects, or whatever, anything, seems better than a search engine when you have a limited amount of data like that.
Right now I have more chance finding what I want with google than with your website.
I must be missing something big, I am kinda lost here.
I did not read the book, but I really had the feeling when watching the movie, that the story was much deeper. That a lot of the themes of the movie were just the surface of what they are in the book.
Hey ! I don't know if this is the kind of thing that you are looking for but there is this tumblr (Managed by a member of polycount, I think ?): http://fuckyeahconceptart.tumblr.com/
A little bit of everything, from AAA games, some personal works of concept artists, some concept arts from movies too.
I also found this one in my favorites, but it is not really nice to browse, with only a handful of concept art per page: http://coolvibe.com/
I did some modular prefabs for the ground and walls of my last finished scene. It is not a really complex set, but it did work well enough.
Here is the scene:
And a small breakdown picture:
(And a Video showing the scene:
Fortunatly, once the scene is lit and completed they are not really obvious.
I just discovered a video of the project you were working on:
Really really cool ! Too bad the camera angle does not give enough credits to your textures.
