    ..are you in the industry?

Well if you want to define it that way only people who got their first jobs at Valve "got their start in the industry" because of Valve. Don't get all exclusive and selective and shit on me, bro.

uhh alot of people here started because of worldcraft/hammer and got their first jobs because of their portfolio of what they did in worldcraft/hammer? i mean im not saying anything because i'm not in the industry... yet

guys this was for person of the year, it's not the highest crowning achievement possible for the game industry, it's just for this year.

But everyone's achievements are usually founded/based on someone else's work. Carmack probably owes everything to "x".... that owes everything to "y"... that owes everything to "z"... that owes everything to the big bang.

And naming the big bang person of the year would just be ridiculous Skjalg.

In other news, I agree with e-freak and the other valve fanboys. Long live the Gaben.

WITHOUT DENNIS RITCHIE CARMACK WOULD BE A ROCKET SCIENTIST

To be honest I think after blorange runs its course we'll see a resurgence of colour, kind of like how a long period of brown caused people to almost become desparate to see more colour in games. I just can't see any other limited palette becoming such as widespread as blorange, because blorange is essentially based on the two fundamental temperatures of white: blue and orange, cold and warm — it's probably the most visually pleasing of all complementary colour combos. Other palettes don't really have that attribute so I just can't see them taking off.

    agreed

maybe it's just me, but the lack of creativity in the story and names of characters just makes me want to perform a diving frankensteiner on kojima. that aside, i still love the gameplay. i'm just wondering why he doesn't make a new series that has nothing to with mgs but is still in the same vein
