well that's the thing, i also have a pile unused runes. it really feels like there is nothing else i need. i have tried to find more blueprints that would have some relevance to my playstyle, but so far it's only the stealth boots that really do anything. i do most my missions with ~0-2 knockouts, no kills and without being seen.

it's an eot thread

McCann* and yeah, i've been listening to the main theme way too much while working. It does kind of sound like DX:HR, but it's kind of got this edge that I like better.

Yes I only upgrade agility on the very last level. (since I was playing stealth, didn't think I would need it.)
also, I am not sure if you need to up agility to get it.
the timing on the button presses is just really odd.
lol i'm playing stealth and basically all i have is agility and blink. no weapon upgrades, nothing.
also sitting on a mountain of coins

couldn't get ghost because i didn't even knock anyone out
also why does every character remind me of psychonauts? they're all grey and their eyes look like they're holding in huge farts

there's an editor with dishonored? brb completing game
-
good luck dude, maybe you'll be the first to meet some ancient assonauts out in space =)

i started thief 2 before i got this, so apart from real quickly trying it i have to get through t2 first in order not to get graphics shocked

i think i agree for the gameplay, but the story?

also, aren't you working on a game that features nazis lol
more like wannabe nazis, but yeah. then again the game i'm working on is not taking itself serious, whereas dishonored is srs bsns when it comes to story. and a story like that with no sense of irony is just fucking hilarious.
let me give you some advice, here's what you should do in a situation like this:

alrighty then, just spent the better part of today playing this game. love it, have lots of small criticisms but they don't add up to anything other than personal critiques/opinions.
love the atmosphere, the story is nicely engaging, the variety of gameplay is fantastic - recommend this to anyone.
i've actually just finished the first assassination, taken me about 8 hours so far. that's kinda ridiculous when i think about it but i've been doing absolutely everything.

like dux said, it's going to be a shitstorm deluxe, and nothing interesting is ever going to come from it.
on the other hand, i would like a forum where you could have some more serious discussions, since most everything posted here degenerates into EOT material within seconds. but i guess a serious forum would just be like pouring gasoline on that fire...

very underused combination that looks very cool!!

i'm not going to defend the ps3, i was more likening its progress to that of the ps2, which it seems to follow pretty closely. i know the 360 suffered from some of the same problems as well.
but on the other hand i think if everything is served too easily we won't see new techniques for e.g. technical art or different ways of conserving memory, and i think it's part of the game dev challenge. i'm not saying everything should be super hard to do, like the dark souls of game development, but learning to squeeze out those last drops will at least allow for some techniques to be discovered that may be used elsewhere as well.

Are you for real? There's almost nothing left to squeeze out of the consoles. Sure, you can hack your stuff to make it run but I can't wait until the new consoles are out. Shit is getting super outdated, they're definitely catching their last breath. (I'd argue the PS3 even more so tbh)
I guess Sony did a great job marketing their revolutionary Cell processor back in the day and that notion stuck up to this day...
do you have some sources on that?
the reason the ps2 lasted for as long as it did was because the developers went around and did interesting things with it towards the end. i mean, i don't think we would see the technical art of shadow of the colossus if they had more power to work with.

It annoys me that the Slim is a compacter but ultimately shitter version of the original PS3. I replaced mine after it bricked and honestly I've barely played it, no backwards compatibility and nothing this generation I still have interest in. Maybe the extra power on the PS4 will have games not running at under half an acceptable framerate with jagged polygons everywhere.
which games have you seen this in?
-
i think we're at a point where it doesn't really make sense to make a new console for sony. ps3 had a slow start and it's just begun to bloom now. ill wager that no studio has used the full power of it yet either, and it's a question about whether the ps4 will actually offer any significant processing advantage over the ps3. perhaps in the graphics department, but honestly studios are doing well enough as it is with the graphics on it.
-
yeah I get that. But it's also free =)
If you guys had a trial or demo version I'd definitely be interested, just to see how big an improvement it would be.

DUDE that is super cool. I've been looking for something like this for a while (although UDKs FBX export works), but this is great.
But I'll be honest, the price is definitely keeping me from getting it. I'll stay with the UDK solution for now.
