    i disagree, but then again i put my trust in people (weird thing to do, eh). besides i am getting tired of people saying, 'no way' when this is rather simple proposal; if you ever planned a vacation you didn't order it the day before either.

    i urge those not interested to stay away from this thread, and while this is an off topic forum, i would appreciate that the eot remarks stay out of it. thank you.

    as for the rest of the thread: we need to put down the date. all suggestions within a reasonable timespan welcome (i.e. not tommorow or next week).

    urgh frie, looks expensive. try with later dates though. usually if you order 3 or more months before departure there'll be a bigger discount. mind you, it'll probably be at least a month before we work out dates and everything. and even at that, we'll probably put the date somewhere into the near-distant future to make sure as many people as possible can make it; so it's safe to assume flight tickets will be cheaper than that.

    as for the stockholm/copenhagen conflict, i was just under the impression from reading the thread that nobody from stockholm wanted to partake in this (read steppenwolf's and clayman's posts). personally i wouldnt mind it being held in stockholm at all.

    if you were to take a hostel instead of a hotel (and if copenhagen is really going to be the place) you can go lower still in price. i suppose it's better to rent a let's say 5 person room for about £50/night, everyone going can just chip in.

    the one picked is pretty central although probably the most expensive as well. feel free to look at the other ones in copenhagen as well

    as for if we decide to hold this event in copenhagen, i could probably arrange something with the university bar i work at. we sell import beer as well as regular beer, either on tap or bottle. plus, there's a huge assortment of different "harder" alcoholic beverages if you're into that as well. while it wont be free, our prices are low, and if it's friday there'll students m/f as well. if we set it for a saturday i could probably arrange for some extra bartenders since everyone loves to drink here

    it could easily serve as a warmup for a night or last a whole night, though people will probably want to move to a pub or so later on.

    yeah i have heard about this game. i was supposed to get it today, but apparently it has been postponed until november the first. so for now, this game called "the witcher" is gonna entertain me. not really heard about witcher one before but my boss said it is pretty good

    i wouldnt say that bic. while it's true that europe is big, it isnt that hard to find and book a hostel or something together for say, 10 or 15 people. then find the nearest pub/bar and uh... start drinking

    that being said, prices from denmark to both the uk and sweden are pretty low (i.e. £10-£20 for a return ticket). anyone else having prices from other destinations feel free to post them.

    a few of us irc regulars have been talking about an actual mapcore convention of sort, where most mapcore people (at least from europe) would have the opportunity to meet each other, discuss games and drink till the kegs are empty.

    in this thread i would like to hear if there's actually more people than perhaps us 5-6 that want to do this, as well as perhaps set a date and hear about flight tickets; as the aim is to go where it's the cheapest for the average mapcorian.

    so far, our array of locations would be either in stockholm, copenhagen or london (largest congregation of mapcorians around those locations); however people should feel free to contribute new locations for price investigation.

    i am urging everyone in here (or at least those interested) to find out how much a return ticket is going to cost for a few days in, for starters, those 3 cities.
