looks sweet. my only complaint would be that that the 3d skybox looks a bit weird, but that might just be because of the textures/scale..

m8nkey my man, things are definitely looking better now. all i'd say there's missing now is some dirt to cover the streets. it's a bit too clean still, and to me that's a spot down the uncanny valley of level design. i understand your problem though, because while other places have the option to include [barrels, crates] or other props, there is a restrictive number of items that would fit inside of this theme. if i had to suggest something other than a google on "financial district" or "downtown", i'd probably be construction work or repair or some unique buildings with unique decoration on their facade.

the large hadron collider exposes and interdimensional rift, forcing alien creatures to land on the planet earth. gordon freeman we've already seen in the middle of it all, st0lve is deployed to silence the scientists but as usual everything goes awfully wrong.

Haha yeah, at a massive 102cm it's quite hard, especially when doing stair drills. A trick is to hold til far back, so that the end of the barrel is like 10cm from your face, but still. It's fucking long. But the guys who started their mandatory service in August all got the HK 416, which is pretty sweet.
The training was cold. That place "Mauken" is notorious for being one of the most windiest places that the Army use for training

The training was on 3 days :\ But we are one of the first platoons in Combat Service Support to have CQB\FISH\MOUT\SIBO, and to even get something that isn't really a part of our training is next to impossible, but my CO gets shit down when he wants to.
We had basic "how to enter a room" (stacking, communication, grenades, entering, clearing and covering), "how to enter via a window\holes etc." which forces you to jump pretty high, I'd imagine it being a lot harder when you get battleoutfit which adds more weight (like ballistic vest, more ammo, grenades etc. etc.), and then finally how to attack and clear entire buildings. On the final day we did a platoon attack on the "hotel" (the biggest building, where the pic is from), which was very fun

Doing it during a real war scenario must be hell, and you need to keep your shit together. But blanks and training grenades are all fun
Except the part that being a corporal gives you a bit more "administration" stuff to do, like to know what's cleaned, where people are at etc. But ofcourse I do play rambo myself
cpl shepard in the making...

I'm just angry that they don't make it for the 360 or even PC.
well now, that is the point of exclusives isn't it? i don't see you being angry when a 360 exclusive comes out.
as for what you say thrik: i know that it is entirely dependent on the game. i wish there was some sort of chart that would say which games include support and which games don't.

i know; however i have heard that neither keyboard nor mouse are compatible with games. this is what has made me not want to buy a wireless keyboard/mouse for console gaming.
-
i still don't get why people make fps games on consoles. joypads are horrendous to use as a mouse :\

stuck at 3-4 as well. awesome game

here are the gifts i'm going to buy this christmas:

you know, you could also just "ban" black friday. if a holiday results in people getting killed every year, you might as well just remove it. saves you the trouble of getting your civil rights removed.
No, you can't. [Blocked Image: https://migrationtest.mapcore.org/public/style_emoticons/default/mapcore_smilies/emot_shakehead.gif] I don't say that as often as other people (Americans), but I didn't know you could just go Soviet Russia on that one.

you know what i really dislike? when people tell me, "no, you can't" without a reason. i don't see the problem in some sort of prohibition and/or fining of black friday, if this is a persistent problem.
Well, as for the enforceability in the United States, you have a) a raging bunch of firms who would never let go of such an opportunity to make quick profit, b) a lot people who'd protest against regulations such as said one. As for the viability of such a prohibition: The state would have to check the majority, mostly big ones, of shops - obviously not all, since that's neither doable, nor feasible - whether they have discounts on that day; or, in a much more moderate regulation, police would have to control the crowd in front of all the shops. That is, after all, too big of an effort to prohibit a hooray-day for consumerism and firms - especially in the United States.
oh it's feasible, especially with having police guarding large outlets; assuming that they themselves choose not to follow what would be a law by then. last time i checked, the law still has the final say in this matter. if people are getting killed over trivialities, it's certainly up to the law to make sure that they don't, one way or another.
you're forgetting how much power a government actually has in contrast to how much it is exercising of said power.

It's so insane no word can describe exactly how totally unreal this all is.I have a theory about how societies will sooner or later react towards these acts, this one being the most insanely pointless and stupid of a long list of "consequential uncivilities". You can see in certain countries a resurgence in politics of the need to educate people better, specifically on how to act in a society in a respectful way. Certain countries are thinking of implementing an obligatory civil service to your nation (in case you don't join the army).
Well here's my theory. This won't be enough, and after all is said and done and this is put in place and such events still occur, the outcry from the large majority of the population will force politicians to vote laws that will temporarily or permanently revoke any of your civil rights as a citizen.
One of the main argument in the "vote now" campaigns is that voting is a right and a duty, this kinda message is getting across, and when it's finally sunk in that your entire citizenship in any country means you have rights as well as duties, societies will willingly take away your former if you don't respect your latter. People right now all too often expect to be given things without thinking twice about their own role in society. That's individualism for you. The backlash as always will go too far the other direction, but it will come.

yeah it's pretty awesome and the level design thing is easy to learn
