oh man rick dangerous was killer. in the literal sense. i think i spent on the good side of 200 lives just to get past the first level. jesus.
-
that would be like buying a 360 just to play halo. what a waste :\
-
good stuff. i think that the rocks are really well mirrored in the water, but what the water is missing is the sky reflection. anyway, it's a nice scenery... where'd you get the photo from?
-
i don't see what the fuss about this game is either. i mean if it's anything near what halo, resistance or equivalents stand for, it's a snoozefest for me.

Artstyle was great but the game it self was pretty meh. No need for a second Bioshock. Let the creative people think of another universe/setting, get your self some good game designers to have the game stand out more and you are good to go. No need for name-recycling...
you're forgetting the power of branding. i would wager that e.g. call of duty wouldn't be as successful as it is now if it hadn't kept the brand of the series. people like familiarity.

i agree on the general distrust of reviewers, it much too often seems like they're on different ground than me when reviewing a game. i trust metacritic to a point where a game isn't completely shit, but then, that's that. i can only put up a 2 point scaling system for games, and one is games that might be worth playing, and games that aren't worth playing. but even then, one has various reasons for wanting to play a game.
i like to compare games to music; there are those who like whatever the newest mainstream is and there are those who only like one genre and condemn the rest, etc.; everyone likes something different. when a reviewer reviews a game, it's based on his perception of said game, which again is based on his likes and dislikes; not mine or other peoples.
the best reviews in my opinion come from this thing people call a demo. where you can sit down and actually play a portion or segment of a game and see for yourself whether you'd like it or not.

Anyway, it always sucks anyway when people get fired when a corporation takes over, but if they have any talent they'll land on their feet.

wasn't there an online photoshop link posted here not long ago? with something like nigh identical UI?
-
i like your art style strogg. the only thing that bothers me is the quality (or perhaps the brushes used), it seems compressed or wrong in some places. nevertheless it's still good.
-
i reckon that's what he meant by his above statement.
looks really good for your specs. are you going to put this through on a ds game or is it just for show?

yeah let's hate on the new year some more! it's like the first day and it's already the worst year ever!

It did say that fox has owned the rights to the movie since the 80's though, right? In that case, Warner is in the wrong. I don't think they should prevent or get all proceeds from the movie but legally they certainly deserve to get some sort of compensation for breach of contract.
oh most definitely. they have the right to get every penny they want, and it's a pretty smart dick move... but that's the thing: it's a dick move to say this before the movie is launched into cinemas. fox had lots of time to put a stop to the movie when it was first announced, but they choose not to for fiscal gain/rupture. i'd call that bending the rules or exploiting the law for a greater outcome; and i honestly think the law should be changed so that this couldn't happen in the future (however much unlikely that is due to all the factors involved).
it's like with the freedom of speech; you have the right to say what you want, but you at least ought to use it responsibly and not to soil others with intent on harming them (see: mohammed drawings).

here's more, something of a demo released in 2005.

i pretty much agree with hp. i would argue that some experimentation with colors could help. the lighting alone won't save it entirely, what about some either subtle or obvious color changes in textures?

my contender for best movie of '09 so far

well sentura i gave a couple of additional points and already posted my 2cents on this. read the rest of the post.also: the pound isn't really that strong. last week i could get some of it at 1:1 ratio for euro, hence why the first ones in the G of B are thinking about joining the Euro already...
this is true actually, my bad. i hadn't noticed the drop of the pound sterling; i assumed the prices were those from just about two months ago.
