I mean they made the best choice when developing its as multi platform. Nowadays who would make new engine only for computer while new technology is expensive? I just tend to explain why the Idtech5 is less impressive as could be! They were no offense to Id or games Studios in my opinion [HP] !

i just don't see where the engine shines through compared to e.g. cryengine 2.0.

a while ago i was thinking about making a control configuration program so that for whatever program you use, you could have the same mouselook, same key configuration etc. the problem is i'm too lazy to do that as it doesn't interest me enough. here's to hoping someone steals my idea and makes this a working program (i know you're out there, coders).

i love you zaph and i love zero gear but i think you need to stop ! you are totally feature creeping the game qa it fix it release it NOW !

than if its successful ---> zero gear 2 with all those features you have on your mind right now !

if not something new and awesome that will take less time to make !

quoted for truth. the game seems more than ready for release. addition items, tracks or upgrades can be moved in by the update.

i've been reading a couple of pages from the thread here: http://www.igda.org/Forums/showthread.p ... genumber=1

looking at where the user thomas buscaglia, a board member from igda comments on the entire thing, it just gets worse. not only does he shun new member by questioning the validity and merit of their questions, but he also seemingly does not see anything wrong with the case mentioned in this thread. it's grotesque that people can get away with this.

it seems that the regular members are the only ones speaking up. now i don't know what the entire story of igda is or has been, whether there has been infighting or otherwise controversial disputes, but i am beginning to take a step back from the organization as a whole. associations or unions should serve to help the underdog against the "man", but here it seems that the "man" has taken over the association. i am personally going to boycott igda for what i have seen here. i urge those of you who are associated with igda or otherwise in a position with more information to share your stories and contribute.

curiously while browsing for the igda board of directors, i found this: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=6 ... _2fA_3d_3d

about what mirror's edge or other studios have to do and or pay for a game with edge in its title; i honestly doubt it is much. on the same board is a spokesperson from EA as well as THQ. it's a shame to see such a young industry be so corrupt already.

i just read this article and thought this would be something worth discussing. not so much the actions taken (i'm sure we can all agree that poaching from indie developers is a vulgar display of greed), but more on how it would be possible to prevent things like these.

apparently there are developers who want to take up the fight and have started a fund against this, but to me it seems like there is need for something more. treat this as an attempt to provoke at the very least debate around the topic, and at expectation solutions for indie developers as well as major studios to circumvent or otherwise be able to ignore shakedowns such as these.

Regarding stuff to learn i can only advice you to look into singleplayer scripting.I'm regreting that i always treated it like a unloved step child before i joined the industry. It was hard for me to keep up with it when i was at Grin and i have the feeling that the lack of experience with it is in my way now for finding a new job. It's definately where i have my learn focus now.

this is good news for me. it means my years spent coding aren't entirely for naught.

Are these things like astrology and horoscopes? They predict and say things that are common to many other groups people and often you find them to be true. BTW, I'm INFJ too D: and the most of the things said above SEEM to be true with me.

RPG games should here on have a "Choose your MBTI" option where you enter your MBIT thingie and it selects a race/character and customizes it for you

most of the RPGs you have translate archetypes into specific character classes. you usually pick the character you identify with the most. although classes may be more superficial, they signal the same thing: your class decides your abilities and how other people see you virtually.

i actually agree on the mouselook hammer has, it is definitely the best, most intuitive i have had my hands on. i don't care much for holding babies when i work; i use both hands when i work.

    this.

i'm not sure how impressive this engine really is, but the atmosphere they've created for the game looks awesome.

isn't this the third time this has come up on the 'core?

anyway i'm ENFP/ENTP depending on what i'm doing.

besides, 2d: saying that anything you choose or do has no effect on your personality would be ignorant. the test doesn't give you the results without merit - after all, you answer the questions it gives you yourself.

funny, i had you for an ISTJ.

    EDIT:

i just saw what furyo wrote. i believe you have to take the results with a grain of salt, as well as delve into the theory itself. the theory states that there is a function order for each specific type, and for some distinct types, those orders may have a minimal change. INFJ -> INTJ is not entirely impossible; it could be two aspects of your personality you take on at a respectively lower/higher resource cost.

i agree, under rated, under appreciated kick ass game. rune powered sword that lets you cut off people's heads while shooting bolts of lightning across the room? fuck yeah. hammer that lets you turn people into stone with a hit? fuck yeah. this game was epic then and serves as a milestone for epicness that games even today should look back at.
