The details don't feel integrated. Don't just put pipes and vents everywhere -- where do those pipes and vents go? What purpose do these rooms serve?

this very much. allow me to expand on this by saying that you need there to be some sort of ambient narrative; i.e., events that transpired before the player got there. the overall atmosphere will benefit greatly from this, and it will make the player uneasy. typically something that will make something scary is when there are missing parts of a narrative scattered around. for instance, you can have leads in your level that battle has been going on, with blood splatter everywhere; but missing bodies and sound effects that suggest a presence in the nearby rooms. the suspense will always be in the ambience in a scary level; and this goes whether you choose for it to have a climax for it or not.

also the level is so dark that i can barely make it out on one of my monitors.

insulting is never and in no country covered by the freedom of speech. the freedom of speech guarantees you to say your opinion on public matters, not calling others with names of your bodyparts.

actually it seems most contries allow insults. i know one exception is insulting german police officers, but i honestly can't think of anywhere else where this is illegal.

He resigned from IGDA. But the few vocal other board members were adamant they wouldn’t remove him and was doing nothing wrong.I used Tim as an excuse not to go to one of their events once, though in reality I just couldn't be bothered.

i guess this is a sort of general view on the igda. how many people here are members?

Well the guy was part of the board of the IGDA in Germany I think and he got booted out after all that crap. I'm seriously cheering for EA on this one.

he was on the global igda board as far as i know...

go to court with it. while i'm not sure about the local laws etc., you still have the right to free speech.

The title "the Loop" actually stems from the short story I semi based this off of. The loop is actually a portion of an underground train tunnel where there's a rock that sort of consumes you and puts you in a stasis. Regardless you're also continually looping through a main hub type level fetching souls (those blue sphere key things). I've begun to elaborate on the soul collection (the more you collect and the more health you have when you complete the game affects the endings).

I spent the last couple nights working on it and put up a playable version you can try here:

    http://mahwebspace.levelism.com/flixel/ ... Tixel.html

    -soundtrack I did in musagi

    -new tiles

-level2 fleshed out to act as main world

-tutorial in 1st level (floating text stuff)

-Tracking system that points you in the direction of the soul or door you should be heading towards

-An attack system that will eliminate all enemies close to you at a cost of health

-stats, intended to be used with flxkong

    -player motion tweaked

-all enemies tweaked and changed to some degree

    Display More

you really need to fix friction/acceleration when landing on a platform from a jump. i "overjumped" platforms a few times, and it gets tedious when you have to calibrate for it. other than that, it's interesting. i kinda wanna see where you're going with the story...

I think the world will rip itself apart and explode the day Nintendo doesn't rehash any of their products. How many different DS models do we have today? Like 50?

consoles, games... everything they do pretty much. i fail to see why they are so highly revered.

it's annoying it's so linear. it's like the game is taunting you with this entire metro map every fucking loading screen, but all you get is a small line down it.

i wanna see all of it, not just one simple route. how about entering the reich and sneaking past the nazis, sort of like an underground wolfenstein? or going out to some of the more protected areas where people actually consider starting living on the surface again? the world needs more life for sure.

That really gives incredible results. The pixel by pixel analysis of the image is really top notch here.Only question I have is I'd like to know what sort of rig he runs this on, because I can see this taking a LOT of time on the average computer.

i honestly think the running time of the algorithms are within reason. it wouldn't seem in adobe's best interest to release something that will take ages on an 'average computer'.

what's the premise? i sort of get that you have to find the key then get back to the door, but where does the loop come in?
