i think i have a natural hatred for micro transactions...

while it looks good, it still retains a weird aspect of the cryengine, specifically with the bloom (and how it differentiates between blurred and sharp objects) and the plastic-ness of the materials/meshes. it's really annoying, because it is honestly destroying the scene. also i don't think i have ever seen this before in the cryengine, or at least not as much as with unreal...

im just waiting for someone to recreate the citadel from half life 2. i wish i had time to play this game

even if you did see more innovation in the film industry, you could potentially also argue that it has reached a more mature point, whereas the games industry is still young and in its own defining (teenage?) period.
like warby also said, i think that the games industry offers very much innovation. you basically have to; this is a new medium that has given us a new form of expression which was basically unfathomable 100 years ago (this goes both for analogue and digital games). people are exploring the boundaries of the space and push it to its limits, and right now, there aren't really any as far as imagination goes (ignoring developer stuff such as polygon limits etc that are not central to the game experience).

civ5... just got a good multiplayer game going with some friends today, it's pretty epic. the changes pretty much made the game more tactic when it comes to combat, which is a welcome change. i also enjoy how the eras are now persisting for a longer time. something i really hated in civ4 was that sometimes you'd spend an entire game amassing an army in one era only to have it taken out by a few enemy troops who meanwhile were able to get gunpowder or knights. a large thumbs up from here.

this game really seems to be all the rage at the moment. too bad civ5 is coming out.

"so what are you doing?" "oh i'm just a game developer SLASH INTERNATIONAL POP ROCKSTAR"
-
i made perfect sense of what's happening? as to why it's happening, i guess you can attribute that to human irrationality?
-
im so sad the release of civ 5 in europe isnt the same as in NA, it would have been perfect being able to play it today. oh well, demo here i come...
also it seems like a nice machine mazy, how much did you end up spending on it? ive been replacing hardware as each part went dust earlier this year and it ended up costing me around 500€

looks very nice, i dig the style
-
looks sort of good. i'm glad they took pointers from the FIRST EVER SONIC GAME and not just the loops/bullshit sonic games that followed.
-
woop! i never got around to play ico (mainly because it was either super expensive or impossible to find - looks like you people have been there as well)
-
i don't get it, how can people not like gold and black? those are like the best colors ever, individually, AND NOW YOU GET THEM TOGETHER IN A GAME?
the hell is wrong with you people.
also bunglo: i admire that you are willing to admit this in this circle of raging nerdosterone. some people might want to virtually tear you to shreds.

the first good thing ever to come out of the halo franchise:
